It was on CBC last night. (Paul martin is the leader of the liberal party for all of you who don't know who he is). He looked very solid last night. He answered the questions so well and answered them in a manner that all of the people who asked them were satisfied.

The first question was: Why are you putting out ads that bash the US?

He responded: I wasn't bashing the USA, I was just stating statements from the conservative leader stephen harper.

And then he went on bashing Stephen harper for a while before the next question.

He looked pretty good, but his party is still not very good. I think the liberals are going to lose this time. it's pretty bad because recent polls show the conservatives up 42% Liberals at 38% and NDP at 18%.

Were all doomed.

coalition time maybe - canada is proportional representation isnt it?

didn't get a chance to watch it, did he saw anything about the CF? (hopefully like there gunna get more funding)

i missed it.
look, Paul Martin and the Liberals can look as bad as they want...the most scary proposition is seeing Harper and the PC party in power.

its been a long time since the PC were in power and it seems people are forgetting the mess this party caused back then...i know i certainly don't need a reminder of it.
seriously, after finally being back on budget for the last few years, Canada does not need a party thats gonna come in and mess it all up. :|

and oh yeah, it still looks like Harper will not keep his promises if the PC wins.

There's more than that hurting the Liberal Party up there, western Canadians have a big problem with the Handgun Ban issue.

There's a lot of disdain for the Liberals on that issue, not only from people who want gun rights but even from just people who think they can't administrate it worth a crap. Look how well they did with the gun registry. :p

Good researching. yes. The gun registry was handled badly. banning handguns is stupid and non-effective. You have to go after the cause of all the crime, which is the drug trade.

The last ****ing thing we need here is legalized guns. If you want gun rights then move to the ****ing US of A, we don't need this bullshit here.

What's wrong with owning a gun in Canada? Most of the crimes that occur with guns are unregisterd guns.

They're already legal (well, not nearly as the USA, it's a lot harder to have them legally)

Actually that's the entire point - it's not hard to have them illegally though. I forget the research link too, but a group found that most handguns from crime (mostly gang/drug related crime) aren't stolen from legal owners in Canada, but smuggled from here. So banning them for the people who are doing nothing wrong in essence does absolutely zilch.

It's not just stolen from the USA, we have a lot of gun collectors here in Canada and the majority of the guns used in these particular shootings in Canada were stolen from a gun collector.

EDIT: And you are entirely right about banning handguns is the most stupidest policy ever. What a waste of tax dollars.
