Most everyone on this forum wants one. And seemingly quite a few people have one.

I have one. It's currently sitting in a crate, god-knows-where, awaiting shipment to my local shop ready for me to pick it up in under two weeks. :bounce:

ohh!

I just got mine sunday Nov 26 at 10a am when best buy opend, they had 42.

I also got 2 games. COD3 and Zelda, but the most fun one has been wii sports! I dont even play the other 2 that musch.

i pre-odered one, plus wii play which comes with a free controller, zelda and super monkey balls. BALLS!

but i still can't decide whether to get a wii or a 360, gears of war looks so pretty....

I want a Wii, but only when games like Metroid and Mario come out.

I don't want one, or any console really, the only console game I am interested in is Metal Gear Solid.

I don't want one now. Zelda just isn't enough, especially considering it's also available on Gamecube. The sad thing is that's really the only game that would be even remotely worth buying, and the only games on the horizon are Mario and Metroid.

For all this "graphics over gameplay" hype ... well I got to say I don't think Nintendo is coming out on top with either.

I can remember some people saying exactly the same thing about the DS ;)

I'll be picking up a Wii with Zelda, the bundled Wii Sports, and probably Monkey Ball. Playing the last two games over the Christmas hols with friends/family is going to be a blast. This is my favourite type of gaming - the kind that requires a few beers and acting like a twat. The pc, 360 and PS3 don't cater for this, so a Wii it is.

Then there's Zelda. Reviews have nearly all said that playing with the Wiimote is considerably better than with pad. This is also the only version that supports widescreen - making it a must if you have a modern tele. Zelda games don't come around that often, and when I sit down to play TP this Christmas I want it to be the best, most memorable experience it can be (especially if it really is up there with the mighty OoT!). Playing it on the Wii will make it just that bit more special :)

metroid
mario
the new mariokart (they will of course make one)
zelda
smash bros. (omg this will be the best multiplayer thing!)
super monkey balls look quite good also

and man, there are so many games coming out for it that look so good.

It's the ones that haven't been mentioned that have me excited - Pilot Wings and Star Fox must arrive at some point. I can't think of two games more suited to the Wiimote.

Wiimote + Nuncuk + Sweet Boxing Game = Sweet Game.

I'm trying to track one down before christmas for my brother. I consider my chances to be good, but I'm weighing my options for where I should try and get one (brick and mortar or online? specialty store or chain electronics store? what town?)

I want one and I keep striking out. Maybe the fourth time will be a charm. For me Zelda is a no brainer. Trauma Center at release, Mario and Metroid next year are must haves for me. I hope there is a Pilot Wings and a Star Fox in the pipeline. I'll throw a hope out there for an Advanced Wars too. Aside from that I see a bunch of rentals, but that's cool too. I'll buy any and every mouse and keyboard feeling FPS as well. Red Steel need not apply.

Wii is only wireless compatible.

That's a load of butt **** to those who only has wire cable modem.

You can buy a USB adapter to plug into your computer that gives you a wireless signal, it's made by Nintendo and is like $20.(also works with Nintendo DS)

I have a Wii and am absolutely loving it, despite only having Zelda. 20 hours into the game I honestly do think it's better than Ocarina of Time, and I can't wait to complete it.

Also, the free Wii Sports game is tons of fun, especially with friends. It makes me very excited for the future with all the possibilities the controller creates.

I have a Wii and I can personally say it is the ultimate best of the next gen consoles. I also have a PS3, and right now...it blows. I've been playing the wii to much lately. A couple nights ago, I had about 2 friends over and we played wii sports for 4 hours...the best 4 hours on any console I have ever experienced. I highly recommend it for everyone. The one thing I hope nintendo does, is put Online play as a main focus...if wii sports was online say good buy to most of xbox live.
