Hi there.
The first problem happened on my home PC yesterday - I installed Steam and attempted to run it. The update got as far as 27%, stopped, restarted and then crashed the PC to a BSOD in module SYMFW.SYS. Checking on this file, it appears to be a part of the Symantec Firewall program. Fair enough I thought, except I don't have Symantec Firewall installed ! (I use Kerio). I do, however, have Norton AV 2005 installed. I'm assuming this is causing the problem ??? Anyone have any experience of running Steam with Norton AV ?
Do I need to disable the Auto Protect temporarily whilst updating Steam ?
The second problem is with the Steam website. I registered via my work PC & although I now have an account and have registered for the forums, it will not allow me to post new threads or even reply to threads. Not very useful. Is there a delay between registering and being able to use the forums ??
Any help would be welcome.
