I'm not talking about the one right after Thanksgiving, I already got that. Just today when I opened CS: Source, it downloaded another update.
Maps in CS now do not even display properly (missing buildings, textures, and other various objects), and my framerate is no more than 5-10fps. In other words, it is unplayable.
Whenever I start HL2, I get some DX8 error and then the notorious "memory could not be read" error.I tried forcing DX8 in the command line, the game starts - but the framerate is as bad as CS: Source! Unplayable.
The first patch they released removed the stuttering to the point where it was playable, and I was getting an excellent framerate. Now they release this, and the game isn't playable at all. I'm getting very impatient with this whole ordeal, and I want my $60 back. I could spend it on other things instead of this buggy, rushed game that is Half-Life 2. For being delayed so long, there should be NO problems whatsoever with the game. Absolutely none. They had more than enough time to test this game, and they clearly did not. If I pay $60 for some software, especially a game, there had better not be any problems with it. If anyone knows a way around this please let me know.
