I'm looking for a nice digital camera for Christmas. I'd like one that can take crisp pictures, obviously. I don't care about extra stuff like being able to take video.

Price range is around $300-$350 I'd say, but the lower the better.

by the way - 11,000 :)

POST COUNT WHORE!

:E

I've got a nice one, takes good pics but forgotten what make it is D:

I'm with Ennui on this one. I might end up taking all the money I can get and put it towards an awesome camera this holiday season. I have an olympus now, Can't remember the kind, since it's not with me currently, it's not horrible, just not as awesome as I wish it could be.

And something tells me the recent flood of picture threads on the art forum caused this thread. :)

PS Ennui, add me to you're IM list..so we can chat outside the PMs.

just get the sunday paper and look around if you see something you like google the model for reviews from liek cnet or soomething.. 300 dollars is alot you should be able to get a nice camera

also compare what you want will a want a camera which you have to buy batteries every 2 days or rechargebeale.. will you want a dock too printer? you knw the drift, just do more research

edit i am going to rewrite this i am currently too tired to type good sentences but

buy a camera that is for you, will you want something that easily slips into your pocket? a camera that comes bundled with a dock ? do you want a camera that has a rechargeable battery or will you want to spend money on aa batteries every couple of shots? will you want a camera that comes bundled with a printer ie ie just do your research and dont forget who you are buying the camera for yourself. be ready to put down like 5 - 20 dollars for an sd card too I repeat DO NOT BUY AN SD CARD INSTORE unless it has a good rebate you can always find really cheap 1 gig sd cards on the net.. for around 5 - 20 dollars just depends

Beat you! Neener neener!

But anyways. I bought mine a couple years ago around the 300-350 price range, a Fuji Finepix s5000

I wish I knew how to use it properly. I can't keep affording the batteries for them.

That's why when I get money, i'm going to invest in 3 sets of NiMH batteries, and a very nice NiMH battery charger, that way I never have to spend on batteries again, and can practice with the camera as much as I want.

Could make some pretty good porno with that.

Ennui, get busy.

i want to reinstate the fact to BUY A CAMERA THAT IS YOU really think about this please, dont buy a huge 1000000000000 megapixels camera if you want to be able to put the camera in your pocket, take it out and take a picture really quickly. also with knowledge in photoshop you can pretty much take any 5megapixel camera and get really good shots

Nixon is pretty good. Cardboard Cameras are the best!

Hell, my camera can fit in my pocket, but there's no way in hell I can take a quick picture with it. Takes it at least 5-10 seconds to get picture ready.

lol not my problem?

I don't think he was implying that it was your problem, nofx :p

I'm looking for a camera, don't mind if it's not as portable (I don't want a behemoth or anything), would like rechargable batteries or the option to recharge, don't want a printer, and I'd prefer for it to have generic flash memory storage or something.

wow...i can't even believe you were being an asshole over me just stating something about my camera...gtfo worthless ****.

sorry i forgot you were asking help also so te ayudo! ? <3 i heart the cyberpitz i have this camera it takes like 2 seconds to load and the iso is pretty nice, just it doesnt take night pictures all too well http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-EasySha...r_2/002-9328854-5255248?ie=UTF8&s=electronics

OK..all is well. I wish I knew what kind of camera I had to show ya. It takes decent pictures, though when there isn't that much light *indoor especially* it goes downhill...I'm hoping for one that takes in light REALLY well.

thankye nofx :)

i especially like hearing from those of you who already have cameras, and who can show pictures you've taken with it.

oh pictures you want hehe hear are mine like i said sometimes i use photoshop sometimes i dont:

The one with the hotties and the trees is pretty sweet...I wish I could figure our how to focus my camera like that.

I can also recommend the PowerShot line from Canon. I have a PowerShot SD300 myself, and I love it. It's so small and still packs a punch. It's little smaller than a pack of cigarettes, so it's easy to whip out and take a nice snapshot of whatever you need: a nature picture or something from a party. My only complaint is that is doesn't take pictures well where there's very little light. I posted a bunch of pictures I took in the Art forum, but I'll take some fast ones to show you the detail it gets.

Note: I'm not showing off my Wii no matter what you think!

Now, here are the penalties associated with an extremely small camera: Notice the noise on the wall behind the Wii; also notice the range of the flash as some parts are lighted up while other parts are darker.

I read a lot about the PowerShot line a few months ago while I was researching cameras... it's likely I'll go with one of these.

Canon IXUS range are the daddies of compact digital cameras. The good thing is that theres quite a few out so you can find the one to best suit your price bracket and beleive me when I say that even the cheapest one gives amazing prints.
