Next Photo Edit Contest must use the above image.

I believe Social Bacon is supposed to make the new thread.

i hav a rly gd camra

Not really, I have some digital camera I've had for ages, recently spilled animal antibiotics on and now the shutter doesn't close when I turn it off. Good shit.

Here's what I have . . .

Sony Ericcson k800i: Basically the best camera phone available when I bought it 1 year ago. 3.2MP, very crisp images for a camera phone!

Casio Elixim Z55: Decent pocket sized digital camera, bought it off my brother relatively cheap, 5mp, the pictures are better than anything my friends have, but being a professional artist, I kind of need something better if I'm ever going to use pictures for much of anything.

That picture is extremely crisp! Like no noise at all. Nikon D40? Hmmm.... I need to buy myself a really nice digital camera sometime soon.

It's a great camera. And yeah, I use all the way up to 1600 ISO which the noise is comparable to only 400 ISO on compact camera. A little touch of noise reduction software and there's none to be found.

oh man, oh man, oh man, you're going to get super powers from this.

Does the D40 have the Hi-whatever ISO settings? I've actually found that the lowest Hi setting isn't all that bad. It does take a little more editing, but I'd say don't be afraid to use it if you need to. :>

yea, the D40x has the fancy iso, the d40 only goes to 200-1600 I believe, the d40x has 100 and 3200 or 4800...i forget which, it just says "iso HIGH"

here's a shot I took with the maximum ISO on my d40x:

It's veeeeery creepy. Move your eyes around in circles, imagine ur eyes being still but your dialated pupil doing that in a slippery fashion...yeah.

Hmm, nope, the D40 has Hi-ISO as well.

I'm kind of torn between the D40x & the Exilim Pro EX-F1.
  • $1000; supposed to be relased this month
  • 6.0 Megapixel (2816x2112
  • 60FPS 1920x1080p video <-- :0
  • 12x optical zoom (36-432 35mm equivalent)
  • Up to 1200 FPS video (336x96)
  • ISO 100-1600
  • 60-frame full res burst mode (6.0mp); can even review pictures BEFORE button was pressed!

I probably should really wait for reviews on the camera; especially on picture quality. The pictures should be extremely crisp. If the image quality as as sharp as the D40, I'm 100% sold.

60fps! Sounds good enough if you enable vsync on all your...................................................videos

That means that if you hold the button down, it can cycle the shutter 60 times in a single second.

I mean, technically it IS video, but it isn't. It's just a shitload of pictures taken in repetition and all saved as individual image files.

I'd stick with Nikon and Cannon though, the two highly esteemed camera companies.

Skydiving? That's pretty awesome, although it makes me weak at the knees thinking about it.

Meh, I think this is the first time I post a picture of my dumb self. Let the lafs begin.

That little exchange between Dumb Dude and Raziaar made me laugh!

I typed "Bum Dude". LOLLLLL.

My ye ol' Physics teacher went skydiving to illustrate wind resistance and flows.

Okay. I have just gone through the entire thread and I declare Gray Fox to be the handsomest. As in, makes girls blush and be all shy. <3

Angry Lawyer comes in second.

Nightshade is just adorable!

I'm gonna go get my haircut now. I'll post when I get back :)
