Well, i just reformatted my older comp, thought i had all the drivers but I forgot about sound, the trouble is, i cant recall what card i have, how do i find out?

Few options.
1) Do a Windows Update and look for the certified sound drivers available for download.
2) Check System properties/Device Manager (rightclick/properties My Computer- Hardware Tab) and see if it lists the manufacture of the card under 'Sound, video and game controllers'. *
3) Look at the soundcard in the PC, should be labeled on the board. *

* Go to the manufactures website to download the drivers.

Beware of that option. I have had really really bad problems going with that route.

Try this: Go to your control panel and look for an icon that says "Sounds and Audion Devices." Open it up and it should list your soundcard somewhere in the panel. Then go to the manufacturers website and download the drivers for your soundcard.
