Disgruntled Asian Tattoo Artist Inks His Revenge

The guys an asshole. The Japanese aren't special, he should get off his high and mighty bullshit about how sacred his language is and do his job. His language isn't special, sacred, or really very important - he's the pretentious asshole.

If you go into a barber shop and ask for a trim, and when he turns you around you find a mohawk - you're gonna be pretting f**king pissed, imagine if it was permanent. I know tattoo's can be removed, but it leaves scarring and is not covered by insurance.

I hope one of those people sue him for everything he's got.

Wait, I've got an idea, maybe instead of etching insulting phrases into a persons skin because you feel they are degrading your culture or showing disrespect or something, perhaps you could come right out, act like an adult, and say you won't do it out of respect for the culture and heritage behind the language.

Just so everyone knows, tattoo removal is a harsh practice (there are various methods but they are all harsh) that must be practiced by a physician. They often leave behind scaring and/or coloring.

Oh yeah? And what are those kids going to do? That's right, they'll just go to another tatoo artist. Problem solved? Not really ...

Now hopefully people will at least be smart enough to at least double check what their tatoo says.

And keep in mind, it's not like he ripped off some poor grandma or a little kid who didn't know any better. Those were stupid college kids who wanted to get tatoo's to "look cool".
 
how can you compare a haircut to a tatoo in a foreign language? Hair is hair...not to mention that every barbershop i've ever seen has mirrors...you couldn't go into one and come out with a mohawk if you didn't want one...

like i said before...i don't condone what he did...it was wrong. But maybe people will take notice of the way they offend other people's culture without a second thought...and at the very least, maybe they'll at least research what exactly they're putting on their body before they do it...

I believe that to be rude and ridiculous. No matter how angry he is, he has no right to deface another person's body for some ideological message. I'm Asian, I'm not offended at people using our language or culture. Ok, so this guy may be. Is this the right way to treat this "misunderstanding"? I would call him the disgrace.

well hearing this from a person raised in the same culture as the tatooist is a bit refreshing.. even tho pple did not do their "homework" on the lettering.. they did not deserve what they got...

besides, who is he to judge whether these pple are "pretentious bastards" or not? does he know each of them personally? who knows.. maybe these pple did know a thing or two about the culture -just not specifically about the lettering... would that make one a "pretentious bastard" ?? i hope not..

anyway im not the type to get a tatoo.. and after knowing this happened, certainly not a letter i have zero understanding of.

Although its kinda funny I think the guy who made the fake tats are an ass...

Also a bit ago (on danish TV) there ran an ad, for Sprite I think it was, where he did the same, just with noodle prices for his other shop :D

Can someone please tell me why japanese culture is so much more sacred than other's? Hell, people use spanish words like cojones or macho all the time, as they also refer to bullfighters, flamenco, etc., normally wrong, but nobody gives a damn about that. Where's the differnce?

Well I don't know if there are any good examples of sacred in the English laguage. I guess a good anology would be tattoing "Sept. 11" on someone's ass.

thats not really all that funny. there is an ammount of trust in having someone give you a tattoo. knowing if they are using sanitary tools, if they are going to do a good job, and he just went back on his word. if hes angry, he should take out his anger in another way. or he could just raise the price of japanise characters!
 
Well, looks like this has certainly divided people. Despite being a fake, it's extremely useful for seeing people's true natures.

That really isnt a good analogy at all. People arent asking for "Hiroshima "or "Nagasaki", they are asking for "enormous genitals". Its not the same thing at all. If someone tatooed "I have a large penis" on their chest in English, i would find it rather amusing but i wouldnt be offended.
