Mexican archeologists have discovered a maze of stone temples in underground caves, some submerged in water and containing human bones, which ancient Mayans believed was a portal where dead souls entered the underworld. Clad in scuba gear and edging through narrow tunnels, researchers discovered the stone ruins of eleven sacred temples and what could be the remains of human sacrifices at the site in the Yucatan Peninsula. Archeologists say Mayans believed the underground complex of water-filled caves leading into dry chambers -- including an underground road stretching some 330 feet -- was the path to a mythical underworld, known as Xibalba.

Videos like these makes me incredibly frustrated. I want to see everything, from when the camera is turned on at the surface, till it has reached the very bottom of the deepest cave, with no editing whatsoever. I hate these types of compilations.

Other than that, pretty cool stuff.
 
cool video, also its really fascinating what we can find hundreds of years in the future. One day I want to be dug up and studied too

I just don't see the logic with the end of the Mayan callender. I don't think anyone would ever make a calender that goes on forever, just seems illogical.
 
they made more calendars after that one,is just that people dont care
 
The end of Mayan calender is the dawn of the Ether Age, where Metirayer, Teacher of the World, will take throne of the world government.

no it was tipical calendars used to things like know when to harvest the crops and sacrifice people

infact I think there didnt have a end of the world charted,cuz the sacrificies where made to avoid that so as long as there is sacrificies things will go on

dam I hope they find some egiptian doom announcer thing so everybody leaves the mayas alone
 
I was studying about the mayas some time ago and was anoyed that if I made a google search like 90% of the pages found where aboutt he 2012 and such,hell even browsing trough a bookstore in the section of history,while the greeks and egiptian has like a 3rd of the space ocupied,I find a book that have titled in the cover something like "mysteries of the maya,the meanings of the blablabla....." so it kinds of annoy me

some weeks ago a team of scientists discovered the mayas and aztec made objects whit rubber like shoes and more mix it them whit other components t graduate the hardness and elasticity,but nooo lets pay attention to the goddam dooms day calendar....
