Dear Dr. Hl2.net
Im starting to fear that i might have asthma. Its been going on for about 1 and a half year i think. It usually happens when i go to sleep, i lay down and after a few minutes feel a growing pain in my throat, and upper parts of the lungs. Then it feels as if someone is choking me slowly, lesser air is getting through, and i have to breath much harder, it also makes whizzling sounds. I have to cough rather hard for it to clear up, but there's usually almost no goo or saliva that i have to spit. No matter how much i cough, i get choked again continuously. The only way to fix it is to sit/standup. It has gotten to the point were i have to sleep with huge pillows leaning against the wall so that im sleeping in a upright position. Sometimes i wake up realizing my entire body is trying as hard as it can to get air into my lungs as i experience extreme breathlessness. I dont smoke btw.

This only happens about once or twice every week.

Does i have the asthma? or is it just AIDS?
The reason i dont want to go to doctor is because they suck balls here in Italy, and they dont speak english. All they say is "ehh..iss...ehh...iss ok yea? is ok" and send me home.

i'd lean more toward aids, asthma is very distinct. There's got to be 1 decent doctor in Italy, even if he mixes marinara sauce with the lidocaine.

I have asthma, and it really only affects me when I'm running. My throat starts to feel cold and dead. And so do my lungs. But its not that serious.

Its really never happend to me while laying down. Maybe... Allergies?

pretty sure you have Bonus Eruptus, the only way to stop it is through transdental electromicide. I'll need a golf cart motor and a thousand volt capacimator, stat!

I may have something similar Rav. I have a tough time breathing both in and out usually only at night and it takes me a long time to fall asleep. Best thing to do is to sleep on a couch on your side or have an ottoman for your feel. Also are you getting enough exercise and what time of the year does it affect you the most. it could just be heavy allergies. Also you could have throat cancer

in all seriousness, having asthma is quite different then your normal chest tightness. Along with wheezing, you will feel like you are breathing through a straw. I've had asthma my whole life and right now my allergies (post nasal drip) are so bad that running long distances are out of the question. Working with a pulomologist on that one.

Also, if you are having an episode, see if there is an inhaler around. If it helps, there's your answer.

I don't exercise very much...at all actually. I might add that i eat rather unhealthy too, but im not fat at all, rather skinny actually. I dont think its caused by allergies, because this happens all year around, and ive never been prone to seasonal allergies before in my life.

Definitely doesnt sound like asthma , does it only happen while sleeping or whenever/wherever you lie down ?.

Its really random actually, but its mostly when i lay down to sleep. If im just laying down watching TV or something then its doesn't occur as often, but it does happen. Maybe its not asthma, but its must be SOMETHING but i just cant figure out what. If i cant find anything disease with the same symptoms i might try with a doctor again.

I think you have something more like a strangulatory poltergeist.

I know what it is... And i can cure you.

All you need to do is pay me a $1000 and you will be as good as new. What do you say?
