Do PCIX motherboards work with AGP cards?

Generally speaking no. There are only a few with AGP slots, and they tie lead weights to the card - slow it down to hell n back :|

You can always cut the PCI Express card to fit the AGP slot

*Hint: DO NOT DO THAT, I saw on another forum where a kid did that. Don't know if he did or not,but if he did....he's a dumb dumb. The pic could've been photoshopped.

But to get back on topic, AGP will not fit PCI Express

pcix, not pci e

If it has the slot it will work. FWIW, I think the Mac G5s have PCIX slots and they use AGP cards.

there is an asrock board that does both fairly well for cheap

what's the difference between pcix and pcie? dont both mean "express". unless pcie means "enhanced" but who uses "enhanced" anymore for video cards??
