Do you like the HL2 music? [poll]

Yes, I do. It fits the game really well.

I like it. You know, since I've played the game and everything. *sarcasm*

Sorry man, I dont know if I like it or not, from the trailers I do. But who knows how well it will integrate into the game when actually playing.

The trailer music is orgasmic.

Come on...you know I meant the trailers.. ;)

Aboslutely. HL's music always fit perfectly with the situation. It was jaw dropping how fitting it was, and I think the same goes for HL2.

I don't think the binks count as music...I think the game music may be different than the binks.

I'm not really into techno/electronica/whatever you call it, but Half-Life and Deus Ex were the only games that use techno that actually have some wicked music in them.

Half-Life 2's music sounds even better

It's great music, and for the game. By the way, nice poll. :thunbs:

it' so so.. i need more ambinent.. (and im gonna get it)

I <3 techno/electronica/trance..... I like the HL2 music.

*Clicks the yes button

I especially like the intro ambient sounds and the coast

I would need to hear it as im playing. Then ill say.

Yes,from the limited amount of music I have heard from the Bink videos,I think it sounds really good.I always find that for the music to fit the game it has to compliment the graphics and gameplay aswell with no particular aspect of the game overshadowing the other, the music should drive the gameplay and visual style to create that certain atmosphere the level calls for,and then blend it all into a cohesive package that is as seemless as possible, and I think HL2 accomplishes this task well.

I especially agree with Tytarian's comments.
The music is subtle, but very good for the situations.
I like the fact that, it seems, when you pop a cap in a combine's ass you get a bleeeeep that can almost be part of the music, but isn't. The music blended in with what is going on, directly influenced by the gamer. Very cunning, and used to great effect in Zelda; windwaker

Actually I have a question...???? Will HL2 allow you to play your own music like without slowing down your computer by using some crappy software like winamp... i mean like in game stuff..... seeming as though steam buyers won't have a cd does that mean retail people won't have to use a cd if we full-install and if so can we play our own music while we play??? Because that would give AWESOME replay value... playing absouletly mad songs for huge action bits... like prodigy and stuff..... anyway anyone know the answer to this?

If it's not standard, I'm sure it won't take long for somebody to mod or whatever.

Lol, firestarter playing in Ravenholm. lol

I've heard people talk like this with every game that comes out, but personal music in games usually feels out of place.
It's to wild, or to slow, depending on the situation and the music, and it hardly ever adds 'replay value' to a game.
It might be fun for a while, but it tends the get boring real soon.
The ingame music is usually not something you 'listen' to, because its so blend into the games pace and intensity that you sometimes forget its there.

That's what i was thinking.....

O...and clavius yer i know what you mean but still...... it'd be awesome.....!!!! Oh well.. i won't be disappointed if you can't but i would be extra happy if you could... even though i'd already be ecstatic because i'd actually have hl2 in my hands!!!

The Music in Half-Life 1 was really cool i like it very mutch.. One thing it didnt last long while playing.. I hope they do include cool music in the new half-life but I also hope valve could extend the lasting of the music. My god my english is getting worse :(

The music is very good for the type of music it is, and I dare say it works with the game, but it's not my cup of tea really.. I'll probably play with the music off, for a more realistic atmosphere.
