So, this is something I've noticed when playing RTS'es online: People play to win! :|
The reason I'm posting this is that I just got rushed for the third time in DoW. I mean, what's the point of playing if the game is over that quick?
Myself, I like to play in character. Mess around. Play with the fun-but-not-so-good units. Enjoy small border skirmishes with two or three squads instead of rushing my opponents base with an army consisting of dreadnaughts.
It's kinda hard to explain, and I'm not doing a good job of it
Roleplay. Would my orks really pursue that fleeing squad or just stay put and laugh? Would my Eldar really deem this world worthy of the presence of an Avatar? Would my Night Elves really abandon that useless outpost to the north just like that? Or would they give their lives for it? Would a real Space Marine commander just keep pumping out squad after squad of marines?
You catch my drift?
So, do you roleplay your games and play them "in character", or do you just pump out units and try to win?
