doubt it, i'm sure most of the game will still be new to me. I've read so much on stuff in the game now i'm sorta ruined.

It would be awesome to have just heard of the sequel like last week and be "oh cool, i remember half-life... good game... i'll hafta pickup the sequel on the 16th"

then be totally blown away

although i dunno... I remember playing the original half-life demo and totally obsessing over it b/c i didn't have a good enough computer... then forgot about it for a while and a few months later built a new computer and picked it up for $30... very awesome game and was way better than what i remember reading everything about and playing the demo

Yeah it was hard to stay away from the leak there for a while but i didn't get it... also didn't read the script just cause i know it'd totally suck in game when i come to a part and its like "oh yea just like it says in the script..." then be totally pissed off

I'm glad I haven't played the Leaked build, I was told not to by a friend.

There have been numerous points when I thought I'll download it but then just play the bits from the E3 movies, then it's not really spoiling anything as I've already seen them.
But I didn't and I'm quite proud of myself as I'm rather an impatient person generally.

I have read the odd thing in the script but not enough to spoil anything.

I've read a lot about it, but nothing that I think will ruin it for me. God knows I've been tempted though. But soon all the pain of denial will be worth it...

I never touched the script. I saw the build, but it was so buggy/had nothing in it of much value that it ruined nothing for me.

Thank God for that.

On the other hand, watching the videos over and over and looking at every screenshot may have dropped some of the surprises for me. I know that watching the Doom III video ruined some of the neat scripted sequences at the beginning for me.

Hopefully none of the HL2 videos will do that.

lol, its all about advertisement. I wouldnt be going to half of threads on forums if i knew they were about prior to opening them.

How dramatically are the binks going to be changed? I didnt really think they gave much away other then some cool stuff you can do. I still like seeing the table get pushed in from of the door

sometimes i wish i didn't know about hl2 until today, or on the 16th.

then i wonder what i would have done with all the time i've spent on the forums.

It's possible that there are people who wanted to do that, although I think their resolve may have weakened somewhat over the years. There may be someone out there, some person of steel will so strong as to resist... I'd sure hate to meet that person in a dark alley at night.

I think if you only saw/listened to the information that was intentionally released by Valve, then you should have plenty of unseen experiences to look forward to in the game. Even the reviews that have been done so far have been approved by Valve as to not have certain information. This is why I stayed away from the leak.

In any case, a well-made game would have enough replay value that even if you saw all the material, such as the story, characters, vehicles, weapons, and locations, you would still have a new experience every time you go through the game.

I've avoided most of it - I didn't read the script or play the leak, I don't read any of the reviews/etc, only saw one or two vids. I know there's a grav gun, a scientist and a black guy in it, but little more than that. I am sort of hoping it doesn't come out early, because there's bound to be loads of 'OMG ALYX IS AKTUALY A MAN LOL' spoiler posts. You heard that rumor here first, btw.
