Do you think the Stress Test...

...is a good indication of how HL2 will run once we are playing it? I got 80 fps which I'm pleased with but this does not taken into account player input, AI, physics, etc.

Is it safe to expect a pretty solid 60fps experience based on those results?

i'd guess that you would get about half of what you get in the stress test

well its a good video card stress test. a full system stress test? not really.

valve should have taken that part from the e32004 video with the striders and your allies fighting them, and make it into a benchmark that you can run. that scene would seem to stress the whole system well.

Stress test is ok, but in terms of frames playing hl2 then cs:s would be much closer to what you would get imho.

yeah but css by yourself running your own server is probably an indication of how it will run

It'll be fairly indicative. Larger areas (not really featured in the stress test) may stress your computer more.

AI and physics is CPU dependant, so as long as ur CPU isnt shit, the results should be close to what hl2 will be like. but the stress test is fairly simple graphics wise.
