they stated that there will be no playable demo but they did say they will get a benchmark on which we can test our machines on.

A demo will (if they release one) be out AFTER HL2 has been shipped.

That would be pretty ****ing brilliant, doesn't leave you much chance upgrading before playing the game doesn't it? What use is a benchmark when you already have the game on you hard drive?

I guess they'll release the benchmark between now and two-and-a-half weeks.

I don't even want a demo though, would totally ruin the game.
