What the hell is this? Its on my back, and its about the size of your pinky's fingernail. It sticks out off my skin as well, its hard to see from this pic. It sticks out about as far as it is tall, so it looks really weird. I just noticed it this morning, but I can't say for sure how long its been there. Can't have been more than a week or so I'd bet, since I'm sure I would have noticed.

And before anyone says anything, I'm seeing my doctor next week hopefully, for something unrelated and will ask him. But in the meantime, lets speculate on what this nasty looking ****er is.

I'll post the thumbnail to make it easier on the eyes on subsequent visits to the thread.

Looks to be some kind of mole.

Dermatologist should know exactly what it is, probably even remove it.

Either a mole or melanoma. But probably a mole. Melanoma doesn't usually get that huge or grow that quickly.

My friend had something that looked exactly like that in a hard to reach area on his back. One night over MSN he said it had become really itchy, but couldn't reach it.
I didn't see him for a week after that.
I asked him what had happened, and he said that night he was lying on his stomach, almost asleep. He got woken because he felt the itchyness spreading across his back. Turns out the itching was caused by hundreds of tiny spiders crawling out of his back from the newly formed hole.

Thats something I was worried about. Theres a ****ing ton of spiders in this god damned house. I killed probably twenty little ****ers one night. They were all on my ceiling, and they do that thing where they rappel down with their web. Since then theres been at least one more I've seen every night. I also woke up yesterday with three insect bites on my left arm. And its not just spiders that show up in my room, all sorts of flying insects too.

God damn it there better not be spiders or any other insects in me. Thankfully its not itchy... yet.

Go ahead and schedule an appointment with a GP/NP or better yet, dermatologist asap. While it's most likely harmless, it's better safe than sorry with the skyrocketing melanoma rates. Keep watching the size, cancerous tumors tend to be harder in consistency and nearly or entirely black in color.

Hmm my dad had some kind of dark bump on his face for a very long time which he got removed (basically they freeze it so you can't feel it and then cut it off). But his didn't stick out nearly as much as yours. Weird.
