Does the graphics matter to you?

GTA:SA is a good example. The game has more jaged edges then ive ever seen, and the player models have blocks for hands, but im in love with this game.

When playing doom3 on the other hand, the graphics really put you in the game, yet it was an average shooter. If doom3 had ok graphics, with the same gameplay, it wouldve got a 5/10 score.

so it can go both ways i guess

at the moment im playing FF8, and just this morning i played syphon filter 2. but i dont want to play FF6 again... that was boring... which proves that ill play any game as long as the gameplay is good and its 3D oh and sonic the hedgehog is good too used to play it all the time when i was young...

The best example of my opinion is GTA: SA

"It looks so bad, but yet so good"

So fun, not very good graphics.

But if the gameplay is bad, and graphics are extremely good, the game can hold my attention for a week or so.

Example of this is Doom 3. The game wasn't really that fun, just looked really good, and had great atmosphere.

I'm of the opinion that a well done 2D game can look vastly superior to an average 3D one
