When you come to the Strider, I was running around and I found this.

Is that DOG's head?

Well, DOG's head is made from a re-cycled scanner, so I don't know. Good theory, if nothing else.

Thinking about it, he might well be alive - and that might easily be a scanner. Alyx didn't seem too concerned when leaving the place, usually she gets pissy about him not being around.

Dog has a red "eye" not an orange one. I was disappointed that we only saw Dog in the begining, though.

I think we'll see a lot more of him in EP2, and EP3. If he's still alive...

Thats not dog. Its 2 small and the eye isnt the right color. Man D0G is always great to see.

But "iff" would imply that if dog were alive, then we would definately see him, which does not allow for the case of dog being alive but not appearing in Episode 2.

If that was Dog, they would have been a whole bunch of other Dog parts lying around. Plus the commentaries confirm that's a scanner.

It would be strange if Valve built up this character just to have him die off screen. I mean, is the rest of Episode 2 and 3 going to involve people saying "Where's DOG?" every now and again?

The thing is, does D0g even know where to go? Would he take Alyx's words too seriously and just keep running away from City 17? I think we have a lost D0g on our hands.
