My girlfriend got a yorkshire terrier a couple of weeks ago and its a cute little bugger for sure at just 13 weeks. Problem is it will not stop crapping as soon as your back is turned, like 10-15 times a day. I remember years ago when i got a jack russell pup not having to deal with its crap as much as this, is this normal or is it sick or something? We only feed it a small amount twice a day. Just sick of the smell and mess, been trying to tell it that this is bad and putting it out the door, maybe its just to young to know better but like i said i didnt have this problem with the jack russell.

is it wet or solid? does it smell unusally bad? what are you feeding it? soft or hard food?

the pedigree food is dry hard food right? if it's semi wet chuncks you should change over to dry food. how much are you giving it? ..if it weighs less than 5 pounds you shouldnt be giving more than 1/4 cup ..also only feed it twice a day ..put the food in a bowl and if he doesnt eat it within 20 minutes take it away and dont feed him till dinner, repeat process..oh and when you feed it you should give it a few nuggets from your hand ..that way it learns not to be aggresive around food

btw pedigree is overpriced crap: has a lot of ash content and often rendered animal by products ...best food is either Hill Brand or Science Diet ..but even those have perservatives, by products and high ash content

We give it the dry and moist stuff mixed together and a very small amount twice a day, the dog always eats the lot straight away, will try the hand feeding thing but that wont stop the crapping. Might get a cork. Couldnt find any puppy food bar pedigree in the shops, will have to look further afield i guess. Thanks for the advice stern.

try to stick with just dry food ..moist food has always given all of the dogs I've had the runs (wet poo)
