Doom3 - HELP !!!

I've just walked in with game in hand and a big grin. Install it about to play it and it looks like a snow storm! Reminds me of the static you use to get with old TVs when someone was using a hair-dryer. Not only is it white snow but red as well, I didnt go any further than the loading dock (not wanting to ruin the experience) but also cause its almost unplayable with that static/snow storm shite going on. This happens at all resolutions and detail settings.

Ive got a 9800pro (AIW), hasnt been O/C and Ive tried new drivers as troubleshooting. BTW hasnt happened on any othe application/game.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Ive just remembered that Ive got Directx 9.0c installed and that maybe part of the problem...........forgotten how to uninstall it and get 9.0b on....

I think maybe you can just run the setup of DX9b that's on the CD... I wouldn't think you'd have to go through an actual uninstall...

(I have DX9c and it's fine.)

You don't uninstall DX 9.0c. It is backwards compatible. DX9.0c isn't the problem. Try underclocking and see if that solves the problem. You may want to make sure your case has plenty of cooling in it.
