Wow. I just bought it on dvd. I'd never herd of it before. Then I found out that the song their playing on Kroq and 103.1 alot (Mad World) was from Donnie Darko, back in like 2001. I'd never herd of Donnie Darko and my friend said it was amazing. He said it was about like, theories of time travle and worm holes and stuff (im in to all that stuff) It isnt really all about that kind of stuff. Its more just about Donnie Darko and the stuff he's going through. He's schitzofrenic and "sleep walks" alot. He sees this "big bunny rabbit" named Frank. Its one of those movies where....even though I just saw it....I'm not really sure what happend.......even though it very plainly shows you what happens.

I've got to say, its one really really good movie.

and I need to remember to change my sig.......I have to watch the movie again. There was somthing in it that was sig worthy.
Much more than Wiggle your big toe.
Bastards moved Kill Bill 2 back to March...........blah

Ahh, Donnie Darko.
I haven't seen that movie in ages. Come to think of it, the mood of the first night I saw it was perfect.
A sand storm wuickly turned into a raging thunder storm, and all we had to do was munch food and watch Movies. Justh appened we had rented Donnie Darko earlier that day, and had not even watched it.

Ahhh...memories.

Great movie. A true must-see. This is the kinda flic you watch again to see what you've missed.

I like weird movies... like Serial Experiments Lain :)

You seem to mention Lain alot... how much are they paying you? :P

Donnie Darko is awesome, love the soundtrack... didn't think he was a scitzo tho, wasn't that just something his parents came up with?

But... Lain is a very good... no doubt about that.

Donnie Darko is very good. But I thought it would be like a more horror film when I first saw Frank... but anyway, a great movie IMO.

Donnie Darko is the best movie ever!
Man, that was a REAL GOOD movie...

Frank is so cool...
i wish i had a mask like his...

WBT, did you know that this "angry rabbit" is satanist symbol. I'm not sure exactle how it's called and what it symbolizes, but it has something to do with satanists.

My name is inspired by Frank from Donnie Darko, but me and my friend used to call eachother Johnny and Franky, so it's a little bit of both...

I d/l it from bittorrent, very good speed. Want a link, PM me.

Actually the pills Donnie was taking were just a placebo. Just water.

But they took the scene where his shrink lady tells him out of the movie.

*SPOILER*
*SPOILER*
*SPOILER*

*SPOILER*

Just like they took out the scene that shows how Donnie died.

yeah, was a cool movie. no one heard about it because it was never really promoted and it's release was delayed due to 9/11. the problem was the role that the airplane engine played (they couldn't really re-write the movie around that). it was a pretty shitty job by the distribution if you ask me, someone should have shelved it for a year and then re-hyped it because it deserved better than it got. to those of us who grew up in the 80s, it probably haolds more significance than for you youngins. :)

has anyone else checked out the crazy website? it actually explains the movie a lot. the thing is, for me the movie was a bit ambiguous, in the end (which i usually like in movies), but the website leaves nothing to the imagination. i should buy that dvd, does it have good commentary or anything?

It is a great movie, i've seen it quite a bit

I havn't looked over all the comentary, but all of the deleted scenes have comentary on them. And its pretty neat.

What are the passwords for the web site?

I cant figure those out.

Try these

Level one: sparrow
Levol two: breathe
Level three: rose

You can also try and write: "smurf" it ****es up the website. Have you tried contacting the publisher of the website? Outlook ****s up your browser by opening 50 pages or something! It's awesome!

I'd like it more if it had a happy-end, although, the way it is would be more logical.

And it would be a typical american movie with a happy ending with bambi jumping around and then later happy bunnies (not frank!!)

I think I got to the end of the web site.

the thing with the phone conversation.

I couldnt click on anything after that.

Depending on how you think about it, it was a happy ending. And honestly I prefer these kind of endings to "OMG WE KILLD T3H TERORIS LETZ HAEV HAWT SEX0R!!"

It's an amazing film, and strangely at the time you posted this thread, I was just finishing something I was working on (on my other computer, in my room, with no interent connection) so that I could go to the shop next door to my house and rent out this very film. A friend recommended it to me and it is a great film. Something else that is strange is the fact that this film is quite similar to the mental image I had of a film I'm co-directing. Crazy.
Also, I've just come off the website to come here and see this thread for the first time.
The film is good, the website's good and both are very weird, but in a good way.

darko is a good film, but requiem for a dream is straight insane, one of my fav movies...that and ofcourse GOONIES.

Donnie Darko is a good film, Requiem for a Dream however is shit imo.. RFAD tries to shock you throughout the film and the tale isn't very interesting (4 people getting addicted to drugs in different ways *yawn* trainspotting did the drugs thing better).

American History X is a good film if you want reccomendations, So is most of Tarantino and Scorsese's work.

the way requiem ended was dope. for once a movie ends and everyone is in a shithole. trainspotting was good too, but i liked the way they filmed requiem.
