Don't believe the Truth - Info.

Got them too, but too samey??????????

You misunderstood me. What I meant is that each track doesn't go anywhere. i.e. it pretty much stays in the same ball part (rythmically, and musically) that it does from start to finish.... same chords, etc.

Well, to me, when the songs sound as good as they do, nothing else really matters :)

Oh My!

the DE version of I-Tunes has Don't Believe The Truth up for sale. Probably a mistake on someones part, but oh well! I have 5 of the tracks thus-far :P

Apparently it's all leaked now, but so far all I have is 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10.... meh :(

I have them all except Mucky Fingers and Keep The Dream Alive, which I will have by the end of tonight, oh yes!

Be a gent and send me the ones I don't have :)

Which do you need?

I have the full album now, and yes, it`s as good as reported :bounce:

Got em all now, but cheers for the offer mate.

On 'A Bell Will Ring' is it me, or does Liam seem to start the words in the wrong place?

seems alright to me, but then I never heard the live version so I have nowt to compare it to

So Craig, wot you think of the new album then?

Well...

I've listened to it end to end about 12 times now and it's by no means the best album Oasis have done, but nowhere near the worst. At the moment I'd probably put it somewhere between Be Here Now and Shoulders.

If Be Here Now was the Oasis album that was over-produced with zillions of guitar tracks and whatever else going on, then this is the one that is the most under-produced. The songs feel really rough, which isn't nessecarily a bad thing.

I'd say most of the songs are way too short too, which is again the polar opposite of Be Here Now in that BHN had 7/9 minute songs that just went on and on whereas most of DBTT's songs are over in under 3 minutes.

Liams really suprised me, cos he's done some of the better songs on the album lol.

My fave tracks thusfar:

1. Turn Up the Sun, 2. Love Like a Bomb, 3. Part of the Queue, 4. Guess God Thinks I'm Abel (man it gets going in the last 10 seconds lol!)... could have carried this tune on Ala Fade In Out for another 2 minutes, 5. Let There Be Love.

One thing it has going for it is there theres no what I'd call 'skip-tracks'... i.e. tracks you dont even bother with, but just skip through, which is cool.

The Hey Now, or Digsy's Dinner of DBTT is definitley The Meaning of Soul... I'd have defo binned this track off the LP and put it on a B-Side.

I find the short length loads better, means I don`t have to listen to the same lines repeated for 3+ mins.

I`d put it easily on par with MG, and that`s not me just being caught in the moment, this is definatly the most consistent album they`ve ever done.

I`m lovin it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what's your least-fave track on the LP then stemot? After 2 days mine is defo 'Mucky Fingers'.

I`d say my least favourite track has to be Meaning Of Soul, too short, still a good song by alll means, but I just don`t like it as much as the other tracks on the album :E

Gah I need to get this album, It was oasis that got me into music back in 94 when I was 4 and seeing them at glastonbury last year re-kindelled that WoW sensation I got when listening to Be Here Now on my dads CD player all those years ago.

Lyla I have heard though and I must say it is sub-par oasis as most album has been since "whats the story" though it is by no means bad it doesn't have the same punch that songs like "live forever" and "Champagne supernover" that makes them so listenable and interesting.

I will be buying the album and have both fingers crossed hoping that it will be better than standing on the shoulders of giants (which is awful in my opinion).

Oasis will never better their first 2 albums, they came in at the top, and when that happens, the only way is down.
In my opinion SOTSOG was still the best album released that year, and Gas Panic was worth the £9.99 for the CD alone.

Be rest assured the new album is better than BHN, SOTSOG, and HC, and while you may not agree about it being better than BHN depending on what your take on the album was, it is infinitly better than both SOTSOG and HC

Oh Yes! Shame it's a Bank Holiday on Monday :(

No it wasn't. Parachutes was miles better than SOTSOG. Agreed about Gas Panic though thats probably my favourite song on the album (but my least fave to play on my acoustic guitar... go figure!).

Oh come on, there were about 3 good songs on parachutes. :rolling:
(They would be Yellow, Trouble and Shiver).

I aint got my manc tickets yet either, but I didn`t get my Finsbury park or Sheffiled tickets until a month before the gig, so I`m not worried.

They've lost stuff I've ordered in the past (just the once mind) and I had to leave it 14 days before contacting them. Unusually they were very cool about it an sent out a replacement (it was the We Were Soldiers DVD). The original never to this day turned up either :| If it doesn't turn up tomorrow I dare say it won't turn up at all.

I`ve had that happen as well with American Pie 2 from sendit.com (was Blackstar.com back then), thing is, you know there`s some grubby little oink of a postal worker that took it home. :flame:
