...You might lose your hat.

Last night, I drank to excess. I has made me niether big nor clever, and I would suggest that nodoby do it. I have figured out after talking with my friend that in the space of 3 hours, I had 11 triple vodkas and a couple of other misc drinks. By all rights, I should be dead, fortunately though I ran into some very nice people and they got me home when I lost my friends...however, in an effort to find my friends I went back into Manchester to find them and again ran into some very nice people...However, this time they decided to take me back to the student campuses, where they felt I was staying and it is around this time that I lost my hat...I loved that hat, I got it from California and therefore can't buy another one. I had lots of memories attached to it and now its gone. However, I will not sit around feeling sorry for myself, I am going to buy a new hat and that new hat will remind me of last night and what not to do...

Although the night was enjoyable, it is not something I will be doing again....I have nothing wrong with alcohol but that much was too much.

pfft, the only lesson thats taught me is not to wear a hat while drinking :p (or underpants for that matter, long story, tell ya later) :)

;( That' bad, very very bad. You got that hat from California . I could probably mail you a new one with, a custom hat with my picture in the front of the hat, you'll love it dearly.

I feel for you. What was the hat like?
Although you're lucky you ran into such nice people. Students are great.

:dozey: Psssh them students probably took his hat, shitted in it, and gave it to a dog.

Pffft. Students wouldn't do that - we're too good to do that. Maybe American students would, but not us Brits. We have an undeniable air of sophistication. :)

Aw Farrow, that's truly a cool hat. The pose you're pulling isn't, but the hat is :)
And I'm with Crushenator - I shall vow no longer to drink children. I have been shown the light.

Wrong. A student would think "hey, free hat! Now I don't have to cut into my life savings or borrow from my parents to buy my own!", and take it. They wouldn't waste a perfectly good hat!

I have the same relationship to a cap. It's got Chevrolet on a camo texture, my brother got it in the US when he was there on a trip last year.

I've lost that cap a few times but somehow it's always come back. :D
I love it!

Heh, last friday I was one of those "nice people", a guy was stumbling around and finally collapsed on the sidewalk, so myself and a bunch of friends helped him onto the grass and got him to drink some water. He got pretty bad though and we ended up having to call an ambulance to pick him up because he was vomiting alot.

Don't worry about drinking alcohal though, just take it very slowly and then that way you will know when you have reached your limit for the night.

Sorry about the hat though, if I lived in California I would probably see if I could get another one and mail it too you.

could have been worse: you could have met some not so nice people that could have robbed you instead of helping you. On the way home from a block party once we found a guy in the bushes dead drunk, asleep with no clothes on ...when we woke him up he had no idea how he lost his clothes or how he ended up with a big bruise on the side of his face

moral of story: dont drink kiddies cuz you never know when you may wake up in the bushes: my dog pees in the bushes (sometimes poo too) :E

ps: my condolences on the loss of your hat

In the words of Homer Simpson:

"Beer! The cause of, and the solution to all of life's problems!"

Or something similar.

Thats why i like being 6ft 7", it takes longer for the alcohol to go down, i can mix as many with out feeling in, i can still do all the normal stuff whedn heavily drunk and i never get hangovers. Go me i guess.

Sorry about your hat, maybe you can retrace your steps to finding it?

I once lost a wallet with the equalivent of 30£ in it when drunk :(

You got off lightly...I lost my dignity and my stomach contents last night and i have a fresher's week to contend with starting tomorrow...he's totally correct, drinking kids is bad for you.

top tip: have a glass of water (usually free from the bar) after every two drinks, eg. after two double southern comfort & lemonades (quality drink!), have some water. you'll still get mullered, but comfortably so...and you won't lose your hat either.

if your hat was lost near a uni campus, check in at the student union or the university reception to see if it was handed in. or you can print the hat on a piece of paper and go round sticking it on telephone poles with the words 'Missing: Have you seen this hat?' written on it.

Well I myself are trying to avoid alchohol at all costs, from my point of view there are no gains from alchohol but too many losses. So overall it is a bad idea so im not touching the stuff unless neccesary

points gun at Fat Tony: "drink or else!"

As long as you are with friends (good friends) and you don't end up drinking too much then alcohal can actually make things extremelly fun (as long as everyone else is drinking of course). Just make sure you drink water like Dedalus said and take two aspirine tablets before you go to sleep and a hangover will be very minimal or you may not even get one.

I was a bartender for 2 years during university ...2 of my "regulars" drank themselves to death: they both died of massive heartattacks brought upon from years of drinking ...I used to drive one of them home every night just so he wouldnt get in his car and kill someone. Anything in moderation is ok: just know your limits ...and be prepared to lose your hat!

Hahaha nice story. Me too yesterday I took things (that make you go in an other world). Damn I will never do it again. I'm so down right now.

Pfft newb :)

Heh. Just got back from the pub meeself, nothing like the friday warmup tbh

Well I didn't get a hangover actually though that is probably because I was still under the influence. In fact, even now I'm a little tipsy. I've been piecing together the night slowly throughout the day. I phoned up home last night, and talked to my dad and apparently during the conversation I mentioned that about 3 student types thought it would be fun to mess with the drunk (themselves being quite drunk) and they took my hat and ran off with it.

Ah well, I've seen another 2 hats that I like. They will never be the same though :(

I never let myself go like that, its a shame because I wanted to stay clean. I've been drunk before, but I've never lost control like that.

lol I've never been drunk nor have I ever vidited a pub & I just turned 19 :D Maybe that's why I get so depressed sometimes ;) I need a girl, who's with me?

Sees 1 hand in the air... My own!
Edit: Oh... Sorry about your hat Farrow ;(

My body cannot manage alchohol one drink and a half and it comes back up again. And one sip of beer makes me feel ill.

^didnt see that one coming....

everytime i see any kind of spirit i start to feel sick. its not worth getting hammered to a point where you cant walk...not that ive ever done that...so just dont do it. have a FEW drinks and a laugh, thats all you need.

and beer just sux tbh. stellar is the ultimate 'northerner football fan' drink. rofl. but then there's strongbow....mmmmm

You give up too easily! So you lost some headwear after drinking a highly inplausible amount of vodka, learn from you mistakes (take a hatpin next time) and carry on....

I could go for a beer right about now, what about you?

Yeah - I was going to do that exact same joke until I saw your post...

lame minds think alike!

well i'm nailed right now... i eel like that guy from the Cpt.Stern psot who died, this is the fourth time this week...and it's friday! Move into my flat for Uni tomorrrow...drinking shall slow down now i guess...;(

my hat has escaped from me a few times when i've been on the drunken escapades but it always found its way back home to Jonny's head.

This is to easy but it's best I keep my mouth shut.
