yea i jsut noticed that before i read the above post that its just your local basic stations no cable at all.
 
I like how The Simpsons, Southpark and The Colbert Report, Daily Show, David Letterman, any news channel, ect.
 
The Simpsons isn't really THAT ungodly or offensive...
 
These two shows have contained scenes in which characters are shown having sex and topics such as masturbation, incest, bestiality, and necrophilia are routinely discussed.

I suggest banning TV, there are much safer places where these topics are never discussed, places like online gaming forums. :naughty:

What kind of family sits it's kids in front of the television anyway?

So glad when I was little there was no TV in the house. It's mostly gash anyway.
 
heh you try entertaining a 3 year old while trying to feed your 11 week old cuz the wife is at work ..tv can be educational so long as parents mediate what their kids watch ..and within moderation of course
 
yes (I'm at work now) ..if I was at home with the kids I wouldnt have time to post here :)

There won't be a TV in reach of my kids for ages :) (when I have 'em) haha

I dislike it because it's passive. You sit them down and they are entertained.
 
heh I used to say that too ..and kids programs are no longer passive, they're interactive ..watch Dora the explorer, diego animal rescue or Little Einsteins ...my 3 year old knows what "crescendo" means

I kinda agree with you. When I was younger we had a TV in the living room, which I would watch, but I was never ever allowed a TV in my room, which I think was a good thing - it meant after I was sent to bed I would stay up for hours and hours reading (which is clearly better than staying up for hours watching TV).

Yeah, I was similiar, except no TV at all - I drew, made things, played with toys and got lost in my imagination..

HEY. Avatar is probably the one of the most mature, complex children shows on television right now. It's actually pretty good with a good storyline and likable characters. I watch it sometimes.

children shows back in the early 90's rules, mostly because in sweden they were late 80's american cartoons. tons of violence and american culture!

It was somebody else. My main problem with that show is the severe lack of humor(unless its gotten much better since the first episode or two I saw). I have nothing against gay people.

Am I a bad person for ressurecting a thread from the second page?
