Don't you find Global Warming annoying?

I know Global Warming is a threat but my god, how many times has there been a news bulletin with a caption along the lines of, "Top Scientists Fear Climate Change".

There seems to be one everyweek. I don't see why they constantly remind us that the Earth is turning into a shiz-hole when we already know.

Well, it's certainly a bigger threat than terrorism.

Well, finding half the world underwater is simplistic.

More likely we'll have more extreme weather: hotter summers, colder winters, drier droughts. A lot of the population would die. Which is probably what this world needs actually.

Saw this one guy talking, he was like..

"Boy, it's getting hot, and no Al Gore, it's not Global Warming, it's called Summer."

I laughed.

Well, more and more Carbon dioxide is being added to the atmosphere, that's a fact, taking our atmosphere back to prehistoric levels of CO2.

How severe the effects will be due to that is anyone's guess.

Has anyone seen the Gloabal Warming South Park episode? That was pretty good. Especially the Jew-gold part. You guys think I'm crazy now don't you?

Extreme weather is an understatement, the weather is literally going to hell. Take what happened here for instance: in the summer of 2003 a tornado ravaged a village in the south-eastern part of Romania, and no, there are not supposed to be tornadoes here. I loled when at the news they kept calling it just a "strong storm" and didn't call it a tornado because they knew how abnormal it was.

Global Warming bores me. Though, if it means I'll be having waterfront property soon, then I'm all for it. I'd love to be able to go for a swim without driving to the beach.

Global warming is real -- face it, people. While it is decades off before the consequences become bigger, we should start taking steps towards saving the environment NOW.

Temperatures have risen over the last 100years, and we've seen no extreme weather conditions yet.

Temperatures have risen, yet you still don't believe in global warming?
I believe it's a natural, inevitable phenomena, and if it results in a catastrophic event that results in a huge extinction, then all the better for the world I suppose.

Strange that it started happening right about the time of the industrial revolution.

Very strange.

A correlation between two things prooves nothing.

What about all the beaches that have disappeared?
Glaciers retreating faster and faster, freak hurricanes, shorter and drier winters?

In the short 12 years I've been in Anchorage I've seen this place go from a skiers paradise to a powderless slush mountain.
Last winter's ski season was crap because there wasn't enough snow!
In Alaska!

Proove a link between that and rising CO2 emissions.

Global warming happens naturally, not human caused. It has been occuring throughout the entire history of the earth, same as global cooling. And what I really hate is the idiots who say "God its hot outside...damn global warming". idiots

Global warming does happen naturally. But recently (last 100 years) It has been accelerating.

Yes, it does happen naturally. There is natural variation over time, influenced by atmospheric conditions, space weather, etc.

The concern now is, are we ****ing up that natural balance? If so, how much, and what can we do to counter what we've done so far.

Me, I'm not sure if we are influencing global warming at all, but it would be better to err on the side of caution rather than go yee-haw, don't care, buy myself 3 SUVs.
I'm not sure because, like all of you probably, I haven't read all of the scientific papers on them, and been in touch with the Meteorological community.
However, after doing a course of Atmospheric Physics, I have seen what the greenhouse effects of CO2 can do, so human influenced global warming is definately not something we should be ruling out.

I don't think any of you are in a position to rule out a human influenced global warming.

My friend keeps going on about how global warming doesn't exist because he read it in a book or something, but whenever asked to explain why he just says "I don't think you'd understand".

Yes, global warming annoys me. The sea rising, the climate going mad...it's just so irritating! It hate it. Not like a phobia but like "screw you global warming".

Man that would be sweet.
Totally! You could have a pet octopus and everything!

Indeed. I thought foxes getting at my rubbish bins were bad, but they pale in comparison...

I hope you people drop dead from heat stroke first.

And by people I mean those of you downplaying it. Terrorism won't destroy the world as we know it...global warming probably will.

Yes. Yes we are, because we are in an INTERWEB FORUM. Everything I say is correct, and everything you say is wrong. Proof does not exist on the INTERNETS. If you still disagree with me, you are a nazi communist jew (and go back to canada) D:

Global Warming is real. In fact it is part of earths natural cycle. Every Volcano that explodes is a major push to this cycle. This is not to say that we don't stimulate the cycle, but according to my Science Teacher not by very much. According to him we have only put a fraction of a percent worth of pollutants compared to one major volcanic eruption.

So it wont all go to hell in a day. It's probably still 2 major volcanic eruptions away.
