Well, not really...but they seem to have scared Ubi/Gearbox

From BluesNews:

Computer And Video Games is reporting a delay for Brothers in Arms, Gearbox software's upcoming World War II first-person shooter. They reveal the news they picked up during a showing of the game in Paris: "It's a revelation that we've since had 100-percent confirmation on from publisher Ubisoft, the Xbox and PC iterations of the WWII FPS which were originally slated for October now due in Q1 2005." They point out that with this should make the release of these versions simultaneous with the PS2 version.

Great, yet another game delayed. Soon the only games we'll have to finish the year are Doom 3 and Half-Life 2! (which is by no means bad, though.)

All these games getting delay?

Not one of them suffers as much outrage as Valve delaying Half-Life 2.

bleh, seems to me that every big game gets aleast one delay. hopefully this is the only one

all games get delayed if a relative date is given

don't say id games don't have delays, they don't have release dates (smrt!)

Was thinking the same thing.

Company A: "Well we have delay for a bit."
Fan: "Darn. Oh well...at least we have Doom3 to play while we wait."

vALVE: "Well we blew it and we set our sights too high and will have to delay."
Fan: "#*$%ing vALVE! All they do is LIE! And then they steal our money with mods which should be free! And everything was scripted so they lied about that also! " etc

Can't think of too many games which aren't delayed to some degree or another. Yet vALVE gets the heat for it. Kinda sad, really.

Valve got heat because their game is much more anticipated.

Wouldn't it be funny if HL2 was released in 2005... then all of these developers pushed back their game for no reason. Actually, that wouldn't be funny at all.

Doom 3 will probably scare the crap out of all of us, at least that's what i'm hoping for.

well atleast that leaves us something to look forward to in 2005, because all the good games were gonna come out in 2004 and 2005 was gonna have no good releases

D3 has had release dates :O Infact from it's liast "release date" it's been a year.

Do you really blame the publishers for pushing titles back. HL2, D3 and H2 will murder everything sales wise.

Hey FoB_Ed, your sig should read:

"Those alien bastards are gonna pay for shooting up my ride." - Duke Nukem

;)

OMG, It's like D3, HL2 and Halo 2 are the "boogy men" for other FPS games.

oh so true. :|
seriously...i don't understand why fans take it so personal when HL2 gets delayed.. but when a game like Brothers in Arms is delayed.. its like a "mehh, delayed, biggie" type of thread.

Valve hatin' going on for whatever reason.. a bit harsh me thinks.

as long as Rome Total War isnt delayed im a happy man...

my hopes arent high for a HL2 2004 release date..it is valve after all.

There is nothing wrong with goal setting, which is what the companies were doing by announcing a release date. People always go mad when they don't make the target, but you will always get delays with any goal you set, so you just push the date backa bit when you realsie you aren't going to make it. If they didn't set any kind of goal, then they would end up like DNF or something.

It just bugs me that people get annoyed, especially at Valve, for delaying the game a little.

And yes, I will also be very happy if Rome: Total War isnt delayed. I would quite like Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War as well :D

Well yeh :D

Didn't you read the banc report.
I agree with Ben. I read the Banc report too, and I wouldn't be surprised if most of the games are nearly finished, but the dates are being pushed back to dodge the larger titles.
