Doom 3--the movie update

Loosely following the game, the DOOM film focuses around Grimm battling alien demons while facing the organization responsible for his parents death.

I hate those stupid movies that has to do with their family dying or something. Also it wasn't even in doom. Can't they just say what really happened without bringing some crap up with it? Anyways I this movie isn't going 2 be good at all. Unless they are smart 2 have some doom 3 fanboy doing the movie.

lol true

They are still going to be on the moon in the future right?
And it would be funny if he found out that his parents are now demons from hell...wait, that sounds plausible now.

There's enough of a story to make a good DOOM movie without adding a revenge plotline. I'm still hoping for something that's a cross between Final Fantasy:The Spirits Within, Predator, and the Alien movies.

Game-to-Movie translations are usually bad because they only take the idea presented by the game, and write a story around it. In the end, only the names are really the same. Mortal Kombat was the only half-decent translation because they actually followed the game. Final Fantasy had it's moments with the action/tension scenes, but it was mainly the CGI that made the movie interesting.

I dunno. This movie could be great, but in the early directions it is going, it is setting itself up for a failure.

In all honestly the people who made the game should be making their movie. Also I hope these people play the damn game atleast 2 get the feel of what is suppose 2 be happening. Sheesh its gonna be so bad. hehe

I can tell right now this movie is going to be another Super Mario bros

House of the Dead movie = worst game move in history.

Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good. Please be good.

Just imagine Pitch black w/ The Rock and Satan.

Riddick was the only saving grace of Pitch Black, so it doesn't sound very good at all. :|

Ok, imagine Scarface w/o cocain, columbians, pacino, music, guns, swearing, and a love story.

The Rock is playing a baddie I think.

Anyway, the reason video game to movie adaptations always suck is because only second rate directors will do them. I mean look at video game movie's on IMDB, the directors are usually bad at making movie's full stop.

I'm suprised someone here visits GameGossip. You can see my post there for that topic, that I made a while ago.:D

If I ever make a game and someone wants to make a movie of it, I'm gonna make damn sure that I'm involved in every single process.

Like Valve claim they will be if there would be a HL movie.

Which is actually why we haven't seen an HL movie yet. :D

Their standards are too high, and too high is exactly how high they should be.

this is disgusting, Hollywood rip off game ideas as they have none of their own and jsut turn it into revenge crap, just a generic rubbish, high budget, lots of explosions film. Resident Evil 2 was bad enough, infact it was incredibly bad...

It's a shame, I always thought a Doom movie made properly could have been incredibly compelling. It seems like a generic enough plot, but there's the potential for it to be loaded with a heap of good themes. Religion, isolation, humanity, hubris. Duty. You name it.

Still, a good System Shock movie could achieve the same thing.
