Yeah, I would like to know where you found this information, since activision and id supposedly announced that August 27th was the official release. That release is also not proven, and it looks as though we really need some solid information.

I just upgraded my comp to a 3GHz P4 with 1 GB RAM and a 5.1 logitech sound system :E , but im using my old radeon 8500 :x until the radeon x800xt comes out. and I wont play doom until I have the x800, even if it works on the 8500. pls ATI, act fast!!!!

yeah i hope its the 14th/15th. sooner the better. tho this does kinda contridict ID saying a summer release as summer doesnt officially start until june 21st.

I cant play this game... I dont like scary things... but its so tempting... I must... have... co-op...
Maybe a mod team will make some custom monster models and change the scary demons to furry bunny rabits and purple dinosaurs... wait, that may be a step in the wrong direction.

Well i don't care if Doom 3 is out first. Lets take a look at some of the facts here.
Doom 3, 4 years in development, awesome graphics, remake of the first game, iD have admitted that the game is shorter then most games now-a-days. i think they said up to 20 hours maximum. 4 player multi-player (I know the engine is capable of more though). Also Doom 3 is going to be the first game that iD has made that is immersive. You'll feel more like your in the game like Half-Life then just playing the original Doom
Half-Life 2, going on 6 years in development, awesome graphics, sequel and not a remake, therefore more planning would've been put into it the story and scenario's. They made a whole new engine as well(just like Doom 3). And no offense to Doom 3 but it looks as though its going to be alot more original.
The wait for HL2 doesnt seem as long as Doom 3, mainly because Valve only told us last year about HL2, and iD showed us Doom 3 back in 2001.
If Doom 3 comes out first it'll just tide me over till HL2. I just hope iD have optimized the code so that it runs better on ATI cards then it did when several websites got to benchmark the game with both Nvidia and ATI cards. I think the Nvidia cards got something up to 100 FPS. And i can't remember what the ATI cards got but they weren't good
