God, Resident Evil was awful. I hope it's at least a little better...I mean, come on, how hard is it?

1. Watch Aliens.
2. Make notes.
3. Make movie.

Pesonaly opinion I guess. I just didn't like the way they killed off all the interesting, cool marines very early on in a really stupid scene...and then I just found it really boring. It made me want to watch Aliens again...but then most things do.

I agree with you there, about Aliens. My favorite child hood movie, my mommy used to put it on like every day when VCR tapes were still hip.

But I digress...Doom has always been about singularity. I swear to god, this director obviously has no sense of direction with his movies. I think he literally took clips from SWAT and Resident Evil and sewed them together. Oh yeah, he also injected a little of Ben Stiller into it, because, as Maddox would agree with me, Ben Stiller is a requirement for great movies.

People who choose to create a movie based on a game, doesnt care or think about a good story and a good cast. All they think of are cool effects, and muffy weapons aswell as the cast.

I thought this movie was going to be slightly OK at best, until the very end of the trailer, when I heard the infamous "YEEEEEEAAAAARGHHHHHH!" Another requirement for all cheesy movies...

Am I the only person that actually liked the look of those FPS scenes? Especially the one with the pinky and the chainsaw. Looks like they've replaced the pinkys robotic legs with some sort of high-tech wheelchair though.

Sure there's story differences between the game (hell/evil mutation) but its not like the games story was perfect. I mean why would creatures from hell tear a pinky in half to stick some sort of robotic legs to it? They wouldn't. It just doesn't make sense. Mad scientists, on the other hand...

Yeah back to my point. The movie looks like it could be, for me at least, kickass. Provided they dont totally overdo the whole FPS angle ("lets make him watch from the Rock's POV while he checks empty room after empty room"). If they manage to flesh the film out with halfway decent dialogue/characters, it could be pretty good.

DISCLAIMER:
As I'm basing this off a preview less than two minutes long, I wouldn't be entirely shocked if the movie turned out to be totally crap.
