Doom to beat Halflife out?

Apparently the realse date is 14th of june. Who here is going to get it?
 
there is no release date until someone at iD updates their .plan file.
 
Someone keeps releasing bogus release dates and iD keep saying nothing about them.

no... last I read (I might be wrong) os that Aug. ~15 a deluxe edition on DVD was going to be released, and 8 weeks later the normal version was gonna be releweased.
 
doom is pushing for about the same release time as hl2. august is being realistic they said.
hl2, im guessing september realistically.
 
Well it metions it in this article but I used to work in GAME and the guys there where saying the 14th yesterday. Possibly not true but their normaly quite accurate.

Heh beat you to it.....anyway, considering there is nothing on the Activision site about this, and that iD haven't announced anything, I really don't think it's true.....but we shall see....
 
Doom 3 should tide me over until HL2 comes out. If it does come out then that is
 
But surely if the date was that soon.....we would have heard something about it going gold? Anyway...hope it does come out then......it will keep me occupied until HL2 very nicely.
 
i believe it's a rumour but even if: HL2 and Doom3 is not an either or situation. They're both gonna be played...

Damn straight.....although considering that I'm on this forum and not a Doom 3 forum....I know where my preference is.
 
I hope Doom3 comes before Hl2, y? So i can atleast play a nice game while im waiting for Hl2

Plenty of games to keep you busy till HL2, try BF:V :E
 
I remember reading somewhere that id wants to surprise gamers with the release date. We are expecting to see the game in August, but it may arrive as soon as... this monday :p

No, I think that's just BS. I read that too and not only does it not make any sense in my mind, but it's just another rumor.

Unless Id itself says something, all dates are just made up.

I was thinking that too, but it does seem a little too good to be true. Perhaps the info was leaked out of id though....and they are intending on surprising us....but i am doubtful.
 
Are we talking about Doom3 the Xbox version or the PC version? I'm asking cuz the newest vid I saw, in this year's E3, was the D3 Xbox version..

I think the PC version is out first.....not sure though.

The xbox version will be released after the PC version - recent interviews with id say that.
 
The Pc versions are almost always out first when it comes to building it on Pc and a console. Well at least 90% of the time.
 
Lol yeah i thought the sources were a bit dodgy....but I didn't know it could be traced back to a retailer! SoGamed were obviously getting desperate.....
Oh well, I guess that's killed the excitement then.
 
lol i find gameplays august 27th delux claim a little more believable.

Agreed. Doom 3 will most likely be out before Half Life 2; at least it is something to hold us over until HL 2 is released. Now from what I heard, again, in my theory false speculation, is that Doom 3 will be released Aug. 27th, and that the normal edition will be released 8 weeks later from 8/27.
 
Who cares if Doom is out first? I'm getting both of them anyway..so it doesnt really matter.
 
8 weeks after? What the HELL kind of scam is this?

IF that Doom3 date is legitimate HL2 has every chance of beating it.

it does? because its june not july, and 15 june is like, 2 weeks from now...more or less.. i think i'm having an attack
 
I mean the August 27 date :D

I think the June date has been confirmed to be BS. The complete lack of "gone gold" announcements is the biggest indication.

EDIT-> ah well, at least i'll be able to enjoy my most recent posession Warcraft3 (yes, just bought it now, been playing diablo2 only all of this time)
 
I believe.....

I think this June 14th/15th does have some substance.....its been the talk in too many places.... However people are assuming its the release date, which we can all agree its pretty much false because its only 2 weeks or so away and I know they wanted to promote the heck out out of it before hand. I believe that it is the projected GOLD date NOT the RELEASE date... but hey thats good news too
 
Do you remember that good old times Quake II vs. Unreal? :) This time the race didn't even start yet but the fans are already runnin'! :D

Yeah that would sound more feasible....and still exciting if it's true. Although, there's still no evidence....this is just guesswork.

(also seems strange how we're talking about doom 3 and not HL2 lol).
