Damn I rember playing Doom2.. I played it last year. My favorite part was the second level (in the tunnels) and the city... that was one scary game.

Alright then. I enjoyed the first one more. I had the Simpsons wad going and everything. Good times.

Level 15 and 16 are the bests level. Man i remember playing 4 players deathmatc with my friend after primary school at my house. Man what good memories... I had the Killer Klown Wad and Fistfull wad. FIstfull was really good, everything was changed!

The first time I played Doom 2 was at my father's work when I was in elementary school. I played it for his entire work day, some 7-8 hours straight. I remember I could barely stand when it was time to go.

Arg. Hated the level design in Doom 2. Was a mere shadow of Doom's.

I hated Doom 2, Doom was good just because it was a first.

i enjoyed both Dooms :)
i don't remember level 15 quite as much as probably u guys do.. but yeah there were a few memorable levels there

doom and doom2 were hard games. I wonder what 3 will be like on the difficulty scale o_0.
They will probably have the original difficulty scale in 3.
Isn't like 1. can i play?
2. i want to play with the big guys
3. Come and get some
4. Nightmare??
i totally forget, mayb those were from Wolfenstein 3d

Doom II was kind of boring to me... Doom I had it all but I dont know... Doom 2 just seemed like 32 levels of the same thing

Oh, well then, in that case... i found all but two bad aswell... the first one and the wolfenstein secret level

Knee Deep in the Dead had the best level design thanks to John Romero. A lot of the DooM II levels were done by Sandy Peterson who has no idea how to make a good level.

Having viewed this thread days ago I reinstalled DOOM II to play through again.

It's amazing how much fun I was having and how much I had forgotten about the game.

It's hard too, I keep getting stuck in these levels with little-to-no ammo and I seem to find myself on a scavenger hunt for health and armor. :sniper:

Unfortunatley the level design starts to deteriorate after the first few levels and only picks up every now and then. Playing out of DOOM 95 at least I am able to pick the levels I want to play.

Anyway, on my search for mods I came across a file (a demo) of some guy going through the whole thing, non-stop, on Nightmare without dying once. The problem is that I can never find a good source. All the download sites for this file have dead links. :( Rather than make a new thread about this (as it is driving me nuts) I was woundering if you guys can supply me with the link.

The demo was made by Henning Skogsto and it took him 30 minutes and 36 seconds to do it. After watching the newest Half-Life speed run, I am very curious as to how this guy did it with a game as difficult as DOOm II.

Any one got a link that works?

Thanks in advance.

Well that sucks. It did go out of sync.

For some reason DOOM II is really buggy when I play it out of DOOM 95. Something to do with XP is think. But thanks for the link, I'll figure something out.

You should get JDOOM or something... thats a good source port and you can turn on the 3d models or turn them off for the classic style.

JDOOM eh?

I'll have to search for that in the morning. (Unless someone provides me a link with more information)

Zdoom fails every time I try to launch the game. As for Doomsday, it's very very pretty, although a bit blurry at first. Unfortunatley, it won't let me play demos...

Any ideas?
