Doom3 Gone gold!(?)

It's not gone gold. You'd hear about it..
The promotional ad was printed ages ago, last I heard. Gamespot did a rumor control thing on this, check the gaming forum.
 
HL2 has its art done, we've seen pictures of it, doesn't mean it went gold.

It hasn't gone gold, so I agree.

However, in the case of the picture of the case and CDs.. where/how was this taken?

Could be fake.. unless it was taken by iD, it's more than likely some crazy pet project some user did and submitted
 
IMOP, doom3 has kind of lost it's high expectations because of all the news with HL2 and because doom3's delays and etc. A lot of people especially in these forums just think it will be running around blowing up monsters, gay graphics, not scary, whatever. This game is going to go beyond it's expectations, once the game is on the market it's going to blow everyone away same goes for HL2. I can't wait to play doom3, extremely exciting (don't buy wireless keyboards....this viewsonic one has major delays in typing.... :( )

Thats a pretty good hoax if it is one! Its like saying the mona lisa is a hoax and adolf hitler burned the original in WW2. erm nevermind weird thought. You get the point though. The case should be a box. Cases are for consoles boxes are for pcs. But damn that looks pretty damn real to me. Really real.
only 24 more day too. :naughty:
 
That "dvd" case does look awfuly strange. Last time i saw a game case like that was for Max Payne or Max Payne 2. Maybe that case can fit all 6 of those discs, anyways doesn't matter, doom3 is almost out and i doubt it's a hoax.

the 6 -7 last games i bought was in a case like that (and i don't have any consoles...)
 
All games get packaged with DVD cases nowadays, don't they? I haven't seen a cardboard box used for years.

You're in Sweden though, correct?
99% of all PC games are released on CD format in America. In jewel cases. Inside a cardboard box.

Few PC games I've seen have DVD cases, one that springs to mind is DX:IW.

Every computer game I've bought has come in a box. UT2k4 had a DVD case, but that was inside a box.

Anyway, 6 CDs.. meh. Doom 3 screams DVD version.

Boxers are still used, just a lot lot more smaller than they use to be.

I honestly don't think they use boxes anymore in the UK. Ever. All my recently purchased games are in DVD cases. The last box I bought was Neverwinter Nights.
 
There is no way that is a hoax. It is just too professional.
 
Doom3 will go gold within 5 days.

I just bought painkiller. I advise you don't buy it. Its buggy as heck and it wont let me play it. The developers are ignoring the users too so lol nice coaster.

No, those cases are for DVD's. Not CDROMs.

It is possible to stack CDs in those cases (as they do here in UK), so it could still be legit.
 
You do understand they did have a doom3 deathmatch in 2003 correct? Its nothing new.

We use jewel cases here in america for cd's. So those could be just print outs.

Oh man i know. Get this, Painkillers runs on this one system i have and then not on the other. Only difference is one computer has more ram and a better graphics card, thats it. I even got the patch to fix the problem but still no. However, Painkiller is one hell of a game.
