Doom3 hasn't gone gold yet. Stop making topics saying that damnit. Just because a games release is near or has been announced doesn't mean a game has gone gold. Not all games have the shitty PR of Id or Valve, where you have to wait till the game has gone gold to know it's releasing soon.

It was a test hosted by id at QuakeCon last year. Just a little MP demo loaded onto machines that were provided by id.
 
Oh god why do the developers torture us so. I want HL2 and Doom3. (Rocking back in forth in the fetal position sucking my thumb crying). I heard their will be action figures in the collectors edition of HL2. SOB SOB SOB i want my action figures! :hmph: :dozey: ;( ;( ;( ;(

damn damn damn painkiller just crashed to the desktop. Or it could be the slowdowns. Or the ****ing up of the graphics. But yeah its very fun to play and its kinda good to see that girls top. :naughty: Too bad shes dead though ewwww.
 
hool, this isn't a Painkiller thread. Nor is it a People Can Fly Software thread.. this is a Doom 3 thread.

What are you talking about? Doom 3 has no havoc system at all. It is all in house game engine to my knowledge.
 
Painkiller has nothing to do with Doom in any way. The similarties they share are the fact that they are both first person shooters.

Doom 3 doesn't have Havok, they have an inhouse physics engine.
 
lol that D3 picture on the first page must be fake! Why would ANYONE in their right mind put Disc 3 at the BOTTOM & then 3 discs up, put Disc 4? Definitely fake! :thumbs:

You have no proof its fake...Its up to id to post about it.
 
the word ACTIVISON on disc 3 is larger than on DISC 4 (the disc on the far left compared to the disc on the far right)

the reflections from the DVD case do not add up.....

the lighting on the black desk is heavily shadowed as it goes to the right of the screen.... the CD's never get darker......

there seems to be a bright light source blazing right down on the DVD case..you can see the lights reflection right above the case on the keyboard, but the DVD case lacks the lighting.... and appears to be no differently darker or lighter than the CD's right next to it. if theres enough light on the desktop to cause a case reflections, then the plastic on the DVD case whould gleam with light....

DOOM 3 is also printed larger on the disc right above disc 3 than the other 4 discs next to it... specifcally the "D"

There is a huge difference between the handfull of comps closed off in a booth loaded with a small demo of Doom3 deathmatch , and the massive Doom3 MP tourney coming this year. Yes, Doom3 MP has been shown at last years Quakecon, but what they have planned for this year is most certainly something new.


I doubt Doom3 is gold, as I'm sure id would announce it the day, even the hour, it is officially gold in one of their .plan files. Most likely they are finalizing a few things and have told Activision it will be golden this month, hence the August 3rd date from Activision. Won't be long now.
 
Er yeah, like I was saying, a photoshop. The mods at PlanetDoom admitted it was a fake.

And even if it WAS real, doesn't mean it went gold, so enough with the gone gold topics for Doom3 please.

Now, I read through some of these posts and we are being called assholes and such because we are trying to fool people or something. We did no such thing and all the other sites out there that took this image and fed it their own imaginations as they made up info, should take a good look at how they run their sites and the info they are passing on to the people who read it.

Perhaps an apology to the readers of planetDOOM is in order. If you do feel as though you were tricked in any way then I apologize, but I can’t understand how a simple PotD, which was never stated as being real in anyway, made it’s way all over the net to so many various gaming sites in a short time span with additional info that seemed to come from no where.

DOOM 3 is indeed a very highly anticipated title and this goes to show it pretty well. I always thought this site was run pretty straight forward with no bullshit and no ruun arounds and if there was news such as the box and cd’s appearances, then it would be covered in our news and it would told to everyone that it was the real deal.

Well I have a ton of games and they all came in cardboard boxes exept Max Payne 2 and Mafia, I got the special jewel case special for Mafia for $10, pretty sweet deal IMO.
 
Did'nt we resolve last page that this was a photoshop?

Still can't wait for the game though!

BTW:

At EB they have a D3 display, with the normal small cardboard boxes setup. So, expect to be buying the little box, with maybe a DVD case inside.
 
Rofl. I can't believe people actually thought those things were real.
 
Battledfield: Vietnam fit a load of CDs in a DVD case, it wouldn't exactly be hard.

Multi-CD holder plug that holds 2, and maybe a sleeve for about 4 others behind the manual.

i just saw at gamespot.com a rumor (RUMOR) that Doom 3 has gone gold, but i really doubt that, i actually dont believe gamespot anymore cuz they said the release date of the far cry 1.2 patch, and i know lots of people believed that and it actually didnt come out as expected, so, i dont think this doom 3 gold thing is true...
 
Who cares about Doom 3 when HL2 has gone gold! :eek: :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:
