Valve have said they were serious about making Dota 2 an e-sports title and they seem to be trying their hardest. A new Dota 2 blog post has given some of the details of how Dota 2 will handle tournaments.
There will be an in-game list where you can view past, present and future tournaments and choose which ones you would like to pay to view. Once you've paid you gain full access to that tournaments matches, either the live stream or replays, depending on whether they are already over or not. As you'll be watching the games in your game client rather than through a webstream you'll also be able to control your view of the game and should even be able to focus on one particular player if you're interested in studying his or her moves.
The profits from this system will be shared with the tournament organisers which will hopefully mean bigger prizes and better quality tournaments for our viewing pleasure. The first tournament to use this system is the Defense. If you want any more information be sure to read the original blog post.
As for the more light-hearted part of Dota 2, please have a listen to these two videos featuring all the dialogue (or perhaps, monologue) from the Dr. Kleiner Announcer Pack which should be available to purchase in the Dota 2 store shortly.
