You could be the guy who speaks at the end of the Bold and the Beautiful. It's possible

Chris_D said:Possibly. I'd reckon that security wise it's a lot more sound for them to do it over Steam.
I dearly hope that not all German people are like you... :hmph:B.Calhoun said:Who else started to touch there balls when they heard this news? hehe
You got a source for anything you've said or is it just speculation?hunteraz said:VU has been playtesting nightly builds of HL2 for some time -- they've been helping report bugs to Valve for a while.
Valve and VU will push the production of the game as fast as possible and I have no doubt they have the resources and money to do so. I predict they accept the copy Valve 'officially' labeled as RC to VU today or Monday. I'm guessing a September 30th release date - maybe sooner on Steam as an incentive to have people buy it. Hence the worldwide release date.

WhiteBoy said:That's what I am really worried about. Vivendi could really care less about the community.
I am going to put my faith in the fact that they are experienced enough to realise that Half-Life 2 is the most anticipated title ever
Pureball said:i will never buy hl2 if it comes out in america first and then europe 2 weeks or so later. oh wait...steam seems more promising lol.
Grey Fox said:and if you see what kind of features HL2 has you'll see they are mostly for the hardcore and fans
and besides most of the casual gamors that buy their games on the holidays do not read game mags or go on the net, they buy a lot of the games because they hear from their friends that they are good or play them at friends( thats the way ther little noob mindes work)
then maybe they wouldn't screw us on hl3, because its looking that it will also be delayed and will probably come by "accident" also come in november.

WhiteBoy said:Sorry, let me rephrase that. It is one of the most anticipated titles ever.
grumpycrab said:Unfortunately it won't be released sooner on Steam. Valve have a deal with VU not to release on Steam until the worldwide release date.
I guess there's a chance you'll get it first on Steam if you live in some remote part of the world. Like the UK

Chris_D said:I wouldn't be surprised if Valve use Steam to distribute it to Vivendi
Harryz said:Release date soon? You guys are missing something here, this is Valve soon we're talking here.
Sashswash said:Actually, i think that it's pretty much up to Vivendi now
Javert said:Even if it is Gold and Done, Vivendi will most likely hold off til Mid-November for a Holiday release.
It's a major title with huge sales. They've been slumping recently, so they'll be capitalizing on the Holiday tangent to its max.
Anything earlier than that will be unlikely.
Damn them.

poofyfinger said:Dude, Vivendi Universal is in Los Angeles... Doesn't take that long for something to go from Washington state to Cali state. Vivendi Universal International is in France. Why would they send it there instead of the US ?!?!? :dozey:

A) I didn't know about Vivendi Universal in LA. Why would I know about that department and especially, where it is?
Inanimate said:The theory of Vivendi holding back HL2 til mid november etc is BULLSHIT!
It doesn´t matter WHEN they release it, they will sell as much units anyway.. it´s an incredably stupid thought... it´s not even understandable..
Anyone REALLY think that more people will buy it only because its christmas? Even though if people haven´t bought it before christmas, they might get it then..
/D
