Downloading fonts please help!

ok , i am trying to download fonts but it wont work , i put the file in my windows/fonts folder and run the file and put done , but it never woks , i tried restarting also. it used to work b4 but now it doesnt , any ideas? thanx

I think I remember hearing someone mention a simple fix to this problem is to refresh your Fonts folder (right-click > refresh), if it doesn't work you didn't lose anything *shrugs*

Are you pulling the font straight from the zip file you get it from? because I find I have to place the file on my desktop first and place if in the windows/fonts folder by my self.

yeah i am taking it out of the zip file , i upt it on my desktop then copy to the windows/fonts folder then i run it from there and press done , the when i go to photoshop its not there

You can't copy and paste into the fonts folder. It hasn't worked that way since Windows 98. Here's how you do it:

Extract the said font(s) to a folder.. say, C:\Fonts. Go into C:\Windows\Fonts, and click "File > Install New Font..." Once that window comes up, browse to the afforemention folder (ie. C:\Fonts) and click on "Select All" then hit "OK." It should run through the list and tell you when the installation is successful.
