They're quite nice. I'll see if I have the documentation...
MDR-DS3000 Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Lodic 2 and DTS decoding. Although I find that people talking behind me are too quiet, I don't know if that's HL2 coding, the headphones or the decoding process or whatever. Apart from that I like them.

How can headphones be 5.1? Isn't that like...speakers?

Sorry, I'm no audiophile.

Yeah it is, they lack the base of a nice big low frequency channel but there's bound to be a trade off.
