Dr. Strangelove Siren

I've had recognized a game sound once. Anyone who has ever played Total Annihilation maybe remembers the alarm when your base is under attack? They used it in a car commercial 5 years ago other something. And that was very annoying because I was playing TA a lot. So everytime when I heard the commercial I thought 'shit where am I being attacked' :p

I assume if you don't know Dr. Strangelove, that you have seen the "This Land" JibJab thing. Remember Bush riding the nuke like a bronco and saying: "I kick ass, Hyaa!". It's an allusion to Dr. Strangelove.

The siren is surely a generic, old-fashioned, alarm sound.

"What do I think? I think you're a deviated prevert. If you try any of your preversions in there, I'll blow your head off." :sniper:

Dude, I can hear the egon cannon.. its freaky.. now I am waiting to hear a scientist scream or Barney yelling at Gordon.

hehe yeah I know what you mean
however it's actually the Gauss cannon (it's called the TAU cannon in hl2) I wrote egon by accident. just thought I would correct myself before someone else did ;)

argh, guass.. I was thinking that.. but thought it was egon as well.. who wells.

Another thing about commericals/movies/games with similiar sounds is.. if you play a game to much and you start hearing nosies in everyday life.. a good example is the sounds of the bullet richerchting off a wall in dod.. I hear that when someone drops a pencil on the desk and I freak out that a Jerry is attacking me.

they have also used the sounds from golden eye in many commercials, when u shoot natalya or however u spell it she grunts, then u can go watch taht commercial wehre the old lady hits the tree as she pulls out of her garage (i think its for some auto insurance company) and she makes the EXACT same grunt, its identical. just shows how i have no life haha

Sorry to kinda go offtopic but..

SPEAKING of game addiction...

A while back, when I was really into Rise Of Nations, and RTS... It was late.. And I had been playing for 5 or 6 hours straight...

When I exited out finally.. I opened up IE to come to hl2.net...

And when I had to scroll down... I moved my mouse to the bottom of the screen. :p Because in RTS's that's how you move the camera...

Had me giggling for the rest of the night...
