Check this out:

I know this rumor has made the rounds for years but I have never seen IGN make an official statement about the rumor. Also, the possibility of Kevin Smith directing it sounds interesting. I was never a huge fan of his work. I always thought his humor was immature and pointless, but it sounds like he's a huge Star Wars fan, so it could be good. What do you think about this possibility?

What has Kevin Smith done in the past?

And i was hoping the rumour was pertaining to the final 3 episodes of Star Wars, numbers 7, 8 and 9.

edit: Oh great.........Silent flipping Bob is going to do a Star Wars tv series, i would have more trust in the Aliens Vs Predator director doing it. :hmph:

That was a really good trilogy back in the 70's/80's we had once.... :(

Just isn't any fun no more. I'll stick with my new boxed set of the original movies on DVD and to hell with the TV series :p

As for it "being good cause he's a fan" god no thats like the WORST possible thing that can happen.. just look at most fanfilms ;(

Makes a baby Obi Wan cry

If you ever saw Clerks you know just how much time Smith has spent thinking about Star Wars. Think about it as if one of the rabid fans was given the directing role.

Isnt it time for Star Wars to die? Dont you think 6 parts are enough? Never really was a big fan of Star Wars.

Mallrats, Dogma, Clerks, Chasing Amy, all those owned, I think that Smith can turn this thing around.

Sure he can...:dozey:. It would be great for a proper director/producer to do it, someone like Spielberg.
