Hi all!

I am about to format to have a clean PC for CS:S next week and for HL2 to follow.

Basicly what you think are the best drivers to use?
DX 9.c....
ATI 4.9? or suggestions of another good driver.
Etc etc.
My spec is below, just before I go anyone know where i can get latest DX9 install instead of the online install so I dont have to be on net to download and install.
Thanks

Warren

XP3000
512mb pc3200 Crucial ram
Radeon 9700 Pr0 128mrh
MSI K7n2 Delta-L Nforce 2 ultra,

Thanks

This should be in hardware...

You might want to check out the new 4.10 Beta drivers or the latest Omega drivers.

Sorry for mis-posting....

I was always told omega drivers O/C gfx cards so I dont want to buggering up my PC. are these drivers dodgy?

You are probably going to be required to have 9.0c, and the latest 8.07 ATi beta drivers are showing significat improvement in games. They aren't 4.10 beta yet...

ok great stuff.

Thanks for mega fast replys everyone.

Where do I grab the 9.0c full install instead of the web install?

And where can I grab these 8.07 beta drivers that may help in performance.

just hope I can run CS:S fine.

Well, they give you the options of OCing. They are better for some games.

oh and one last thing.

How can I backup my windows updates/SP1 and SP2 instead of the long download process again.

Regards
Waz

Do the 8.07's have that new AI thing?

are these offical ones from ATI?

Anyone know where i can grab the full install file of DX9.0c.

I like to Fdisk as this is better than a normal format right?
How do I do a fdisk I forgot..., safely and cleanly.

Anyway this is what I want to do.

Fdisk to totally clean my HD
Partition HD 1 part for Windows and another for everything else.
Install windows

Is that process?
Is it good to put windows on its own partition?

As much info as possible to get my PC running at its best for gaming.

Also whats the process of installing stuff is it
Mobo drivers
dx9
gfx
then everything else?

THanks
