In a strong blow to one of Mexico's most notorious drug cartels, Mexico's navy killed Arturo Beltran Leyva, head of the Beltran Leyva cartel and one of Mexico's three most wanted criminals.

But every victory comes at a cost it seems.

It's interesting, every time the Mexican government says this is a big blow when they kill a drug lord. But nothing seem to be happening.

I guess so. But it seemed pretty weak them killing the family of the soldier who was killed. If they wanted retaliatory action why not take it up with the Marines ? Not that I condone that sort of thing.

Because it's far more effective to kill the family (civilians) to scare the authorities away from ****ing with them. Rather than killing marines whose job involves the risk of death.

Well I'm unfamiliar with the situation in Mexico. Can't expect crimianls to have any sense of decency. Meh, these guys will wind up in jail or dead anyway. Mostly the latter. I hear lots of them gets killed in turf wars.

It seems with drug lords though, as one dies another gets replaced. what they need to do is find a large shipment of coke, load it up with some nasty drugs that make your hair fall out immediately and your eyes bleed and then people will get scared enough not to use that shit. make the product useless and the drug dealers will go away
