If you're in Manual mode (where the DS menu comes up and you get to select whether to launch your DS game or your GBA game), you can hold those three buttons and then tap the Advance Wars DS icon.

If you're in Automatic mode, hold those three buttons immediately after you turn on the DS.

It should work... D:

OK, it worked. I had it on the manual mode, so when I hit the "start advanced wars" button, I'd hold the 3 ones aftewards...would never show up! But now I got it, and I don't have 1/4 of the medals! HURRAY!
