how can you tell if a mobo has dual channel?OCybrManO said:A motherboard that supports dual channel can access two identical sticks of RAM at the same time (instead of having a single memory controller that has to handle them one at a time)... so, it can be almost twice as fast in memory-intensive operations.

Opps lol i coyed the processor....FictiousWill said:That's not a motherboard.

I have one both on my current but im buying a new computer and im wondering should i spend more money for the DVD-ROM.....or just stick to a CD-ROM drive?bosox188 said:Terminator, blahblahblah already said no, that board doesn't support it, none of the socket 754 boards support it. B Calhoun, do you already have a cd drive? It would be really good to have a dvd drive, because sooner or later games will become to big to use cd's, they already need 3 or 4 in today's games. I'm guessing you already have a cd drive so get the dvd.

Just so ya know. Here is the difference between Dual Channel and Single Channel memory when they both have 1MB L2 cache and a 2.2GHz CPU.The Terminator said:answer to my question?

All Socket 939 Athlon 64 (Non-FX) CPUs have 512KB L2 Cache though.
