I have a very noobish question here: OK, I have an FX 5950 Ultra. I don't want to run HL2 with it because of all the problems with DX9 and the FX series and all that stuff. Yet the card is still very good and very fast and I will probably use it for just about every other game I own except HL2. Alrighty, now I have a ATI 9700 Pro. I want to know if I can stick the 9700 Pro in my computer along with my FX 5950 and just switch between the two whenever I feel like it? I know I can't run both at the same time, but can both be in the computer? I think this would save me alot of time instead of having to always switch out cards. Is this possible?

you would need a magic motherboard with 2 agp slots. answer is no. also having both drivers for nvidia and ati on your ocmputer will be trouble.

Just keep the 5950 in now and put in the 9700 pro when you get HL2. You can keep the 9700 pro in there for a while once you do, it's not much slower.

Doh! Forgot about AGP slots. Thanks.

Yup, will do. I think I'll keep it in until Nvidia optimizes their drives for HL2. Whenever that is.

Youll need to uninstall the nvidia drivers then install the latest ATI drivers once you switch cards.

Yes, I know. I'm not that much of a noob, but I guess this post contradicts that. Thanks though.
