not quite but ..

"Of course, that doesn't mean they're not already prepping for a sequel. In an interview with Firing Squad, 3D Realms CEO Scott Miller started popping crazy pills and announced they'd finished "high-level story" work on a Prey sequel and "and of course as soon as Duke is done we'll begin a new one."

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *gasp* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

the phrase "not in my lifetime" instantly springs to mind

WTF? Does this mean, they will be showing us DNF this years E3. Have you got a link?

Well with all of the time/money/effort they have put into this one, hopefully it won't be too hard for them to whip up a sequel. I am sure the engine won't be totally new if that is the case. Still, let's just wait and see a first game before we go talking about sequels...geez! These guys are certifiable!

Well sure, no one wants to spend so long on making a game, and we've definitely screwed up along the way. But in the end, it'll work out fine as long as we produce a hit. If we manage that, few will care that it took so long
He still seems adamant that DNF will see the light of day at least.

I have no doubt DNF will see the light of day ..not entirely convinced it'll be during this decade ( ;) ) but sooner or later they will release something with the DNF name on it

Has there actually been any credible, official DNF media, material or screens released, old engine or new engine?
I knew of the game years ago, but only became fully aware of all the controversy, or at least, all of the problems that development was facing recently.

Surely a game facing such a long period of develpoment and as I'm aware, two overhauls would become obsolete to games such as HL2 now.....

If that was the quality of the 2001 vid, then think what they could do with today's technology
Create a top-notch tech-demo show-casing it, and still not have a game released by 2011?

haha, I had a hunch it might be there after some of the comments whats his name was making, the creator. Im still looking forward too it, I can only imagine how cool it would be if it was just as obscene as the first except with Uber Graphics.

Zing!

Prey is looking good though.

with the amount of money that would have to be pumped into it i doubt they'd get much from it...

Watch, DNF becomes the FPS to end all FPSs when its released :P.

Are you implying that the end-of-level-boss is Sauron, as such as Duke is known to rip-off films in its last games

I wouldn't really say "rip," just parody and reference.

...But Sauron would be a bad ass boss. Or something like Sauron...

Nothing wrong with parodying movies.

I might of sounded harsh when I said 'rip', but it was in good nature. 3D Realms did what other gaming developers did not dare to do, and I admire them for that.

Offcourse, then Electronic Arts came along, and basically bought licenses from every film out there, ruining the concept of risk-taking.....

I can see someone remaking Duke Nukem 3D with whatever engine DNF will be using

Bruce Campbell wasn't happy with 3D Realms for taking lines from the Evil Dead films. I think that's the only time I heard anyone complain. But Bruce Campbell's allowed to complain. He's Bruce Campbell.

Who is Sauron? And yes i will be buying DNF i think it will be out this year. End of this year or start of next.

so...uh, are they going to release 2 before 1?
I'd laugh, and the game would probably go down in history :P

I'd doubt very much if they'd call it "Duke Nukem Forever 2". It'd simply be the next Duke Nukem, and they'd work out a way to give "five" into the name subtly. (DNF is Duke Nukem 4).

seriously, DNF is probably the most talked about game of all time. if it ever comes out, it will be a huuuuuuuuge hit ... best selling game of all time! guaranteed.

unless it sucks then it will be an even bigger industry joke ...if that's possible

i think when God comes down upon us and smokes a black, drinks some Jack, and robs the jewelry store, is when DNF will come out...i see no hope whatsoever
