Dust2 Licence Plates

What was the date written on those plates again? I remember it was October something...

There was a post a while ago in some forum that was made, a license plate on a car in dust (on CS: Source) had an October date on it. 11 = november?

I think an explanation is needed.
I can't see anything in those license plates anyway other then random things?

I try to think but I cant think of anything. On the first pic the numbers are 5 0 0 8 8 2
On the second
E 1 1 0 0 S C

Think release/gold dates people. :)

I really hope they didn't waste their time doing that, when they could have just released a press statement... :upstare:

what does this mean? HL2 is coming out on 5th/8th november?

Unless its coded (or random text), then those letters as they are don't mean much to me at least

I think VALVe just likes messing with our little minds :rolling:

Obviously it means that the game is coming out on the 50th of August, 1982. Or, in hyper-space date language... Echelon 1, 100 Pentacs, Sigma Cosine.

Silly me!
I think valve really need to throw out their mail order calender though...Most of us don't use that system these days.

We must go back way back, make new months to give aug 50 days and than back to the future, well atleast 1982 to pick up the game, wich will not run on those pc's, so whe have to go back to the future again to here.

or something like that.

I'm with the majority on this one. How do you get gold/release dates out of those...?

An explanation would be much appreciated.

From the steampowered forums:
"A month ago I told all of you about the secret written on the plate of the car on the T base of de_dust in CS:S beta.

It was written something like LE 4701 D, reading backwards:

D 1074 EL

with spaces

D 10 7 4 E L

with a little creativity (that was shared by Valve)

D(ate) 10 (october) 7 (th) (200) 4 E(xact/stimate) L(aunch)

Now some of you told me I was crazy, and etc. Others said that will bow to me if I was right....

I'm waiting now, you disbelievers.

I TOLD YA
I TOLD YA
I TOLD YA"

personally i think none of this means absolutely nothing.

E 1 1 0 0 S C.... This backwards looks like CS.0011.E, Like a Counterstrike version.. Or it could be, the eleventh month, and S being the 19th letter of the alphabet... I'm just havin fun guys... Or better yet, it could be the letter E which would be the 5th of November... Did we ever get a third test?

sup? umm, waynes world! party time!

dude so what if those are real liscense plates? they are just liscense plates!

"Does the time on the sundial mean anything",

I hope not, cause if you subtract the 9 from the twelve, then add the 3, then add the six, you come up with twelve, and with the pointer at 5, one might think, december 5th...

Doesn't that say that it some of this means something?

i havent read the whole thread so i hope this hasent been repeated

E 1 1 0 0 S C

"SC" could this mean Second Candidate [2nd rc] at the start of november?? and the E might be estimated

Estimated, 11 [november] 00 [time?? 12pm/am??] Second Candidate [sc??]

I think we can do that perfectly well on our own :)

i think they add 1 or 2 little things like that and all of a sudden ppl start thinking that EVERY little peice of writing or symbols mean something. Even the license plate meant nothing until it actually came out on the 7th, so whats the point of finding dumb stuff like this? wouldnt you rather just play the game?

"Ancient sundial built for mad emperor Fred"

"Species: Panda
Gender: Male
Position or Affiliation: Little Tokyo Royal Family
Rank: Emperor

Emperor Fred is the "official" holder of royal power in Little Tokyo. However, he is quite mad. He spends his days going around scat singing and being generally impossible to understand. His most common comment is any number of variations upon his own name. Occasionally the man he was before the madness shines through and he says something that is at least intelligable, but not often. He does not share he wife's passion for firearms and wanton destruction, or his daughter's fondness of abusive use of power."
