Sorry, Glenn, but you're just not Dutch enough.

Haven't done it yet (never will too), but had to read a book that told that.

This show is on public television. Not a commercial channel but public as in paid for by the government (i.e. the taxpayer). Over here we have a very strange public system where its possible for any group in society, providing it has enough supporters, to get airtime on one of the 3 public tv channels or 5 radio channels. BNN has been around 10 years now. It was founded as a 'broadcast foundation' (by lack of a better english word) geared towards older kids and younger adults. BNN's founder was Bart de Graaff.
[respect]
[/respect]Bart was one of the most funny people ever on dutch tv. If there was ever a guy that lived by the saying "anything goes" it was him. He suffered from a kidney disease which made him look like a young kid coz he didn't really grow beyond puberty (his sense of humour didn't either, heheheh). Regretfully he passed away three years ago.
I for one agree with Bart: "Anything goes." If you don't like it, don't watch it.

I bet you the guy overdoses and dies on it.
Positive? Lectures aren't meant to be positive. Not even Acid-trip lectures. But still... yes, I don't see how a guy taking the drugs, getting high, and petting the invisible pink bunny is gonna make kids NOT wanna take drugs. I think a better approach would be to have a post-junkie come in and talk about how drugs totally smegged up his life. If they did.Raziaar said:How is a show like that going to be a positive experience for kids? I mean, do they plan on being educational about it?

Raziaar said:For as many people as they say drugs never affected their lives negatively, there's just as many if not more who can say how it totally ruined theirs.
CptStern said:no ..that's not even remotely possible ...you do realise there's millions of pot smokers right? are you saying that half of those had no ill effects while the others had bad effects? that would be in the hundreds of thousands that had ill affects ..not too mention prescription drugs, hard drugs, alcohol, nicotene, etc
Q_onfused said:"As they say," meaning they're not willing to own up to it.

Isn't there a chance of anomalous substances being created through your body's use of psychedelics? They can affect the blood's pH level and can cause hallucinations, anyway.Ennui said:well you'd be an idiot to do coke or heroin anyway
psychedelics are better, risk is mental not physical and no addiction.
