Haven't done it yet (never will too :p), but had to read a book that told that.
Teeeaaaaach meeeeeeeeeee.
Hope they'll air it in Belgium =D

Some interesting facts:
This show is on public television. Not a commercial channel but public as in paid for by the government (i.e. the taxpayer). Over here we have a very strange public system where its possible for any group in society, providing it has enough supporters, to get airtime on one of the 3 public tv channels or 5 radio channels. BNN has been around 10 years now. It was founded as a 'broadcast foundation' (by lack of a better english word) geared towards older kids and younger adults. BNN's founder was Bart de Graaff.

Bart was one of the most funny people ever on dutch tv. If there was ever a guy that lived by the saying "anything goes" it was him. He suffered from a kidney disease which made him look like a young kid coz he didn't really grow beyond puberty (his sense of humour didn't either, heheheh). Regretfully he passed away three years ago.

I for one agree with Bart: "Anything goes." If you don't like it, don't watch it.

Even so, i still hope it's banned from public viewing.

I hope it isnt ..if it reaches even one person in a positive way it's worth it ..just dont watch it

I'm Danish, who are more often than not mistaken for Dutch, does that count ?

I'm not going to watch it as i don't watch tv at all...apart from Dr Who when that comes back on.

But how is some attention seeker going to make a positive impact on society by taking heroine on live tv? Perhaps, if he died in excruciating pain wiggling about and having fits on the floor?

How is a show like that going to be a positive experience for kids? I mean, do they plan on being educational about it?

I bet you the guy overdoses and dies on it.

there's your educational part right there

Positive? Lectures aren't meant to be positive. Not even Acid-trip lectures. But still... yes, I don't see how a guy taking the drugs, getting high, and petting the invisible pink bunny is gonna make kids NOT wanna take drugs. I think a better approach would be to have a post-junkie come in and talk about how drugs totally smegged up his life. If they did.

For as many people as they say drugs never affected their lives negatively, there's just as many if not more who can say how it totally ruined theirs.

no ..that's not even remotely possible ...you do realise there's millions of pot smokers right? are you saying that half of those had no ill effects while the others had bad effects? that would be in the hundreds of thousands that had ill affects ..not too mention prescription drugs, hard drugs, alcohol, nicotene, etc

"As they say," meaning they're not willing to own up to it.

Every guy I know here bar myself and maybe 5 others (were talking about 20+ people easy..) has smoked pot.

None of them has ever spoke of ill effects. And it deffinatly hasnt affected mental capacity (not saying it cant.. just hasnt done it to them.) seen as they all got B's and above at A-Level qualification.

People make too much of a big deal about drugs. Fact.

Who says I was even talkinga bout marijuana specifically? I'm talking about drugs in general. Easier to just say that to cover all the drugs, like meth, cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, etc.

I saw the movie Christiane F. when I was little. It's this educational drama about a girl getting hooked on heroïn. That movie is the reason I have never tried any real hard drugs like coke or heroïn. It's hardcore addiction that scares me too much to try it.

well you'd be an idiot to do coke or heroin anyway

psychedelics are better, risk is mental not physical and no addiction.

Isn't there a chance of anomalous substances being created through your body's use of psychedelics? They can affect the blood's pH level and can cause hallucinations, anyway.

I've done shrooms a couple of times but it's a bit too full on for me. And there's no way to 'stop' it. If you're drunk you can sober up by eating greasy / spicy food and drinking coffee, and if you're stoned you just have to take an Alka Seltzer and you're back to normal again. But the effect of shrooms is there wether you like it or not. I had fun doing it but I have no intentions of going there again.

there's risk in everything, but with some psychedelics the actual physical risks are quite low - such as psilocybin mushrooms. when you get up to lsd or stuff like that, it gets a bit more cloudy as to the neurological effects, but overall you probably won't get any physical problems from most hallucinogens, other than perhaps nausea.

that's not true for all hallucinogens though, but as far as shrooms, acid, mescaline, 2c-b, 2c-i, etc, goes, its mostly mental dangers - IE if you have potential to become schizophrenic, you definitely shouldn't touch psychoactives at all.

edit: that reply was to stigmata. also as far as hallucinogens go, you need to greatly prepare yourself for what's happening, otherwise it can be scary as hell

Wow that host is a dumbass. I would rather have a sumo wrestler sit his fat sweaty ass on my face than do that if I was him.

And I thought acid was long gone since the 70's/80's. Or have I just been decieved!?

It's not gone, really. I guess it just sort of becomes overshadowed when Snoop Dogg's on national television talking smoking blunts.
