DVD drive

I am only going to get a dvd drive and I don't plan on burning CDs or DVDs. What should I look for? How important is the speed and what brands are good? Or where can I find a good site that reviews things like this, andatech and toms don't.

liteon is an excellent brand, ive used them in all my dvd roms. not sure why you wouldent want a cd/dvd burner, they are very affordable.but... a good drive for you would be this right here http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=27-131-118&depa=0

I perfer bunsen burners, burns more than 20 discs in a few mins. DVD or CDs.

No, really...LiteOn.
Lots of brands use them too which is awesome. Sony and TDK both do.
They are actually upgradable too.
