Dvd Drives

I was considering getting a Dvd player with my computer but I noticed that its like 16X and the regular cd drives are like 52X so are Dvd drivers slower?

no cd drives are stupidly fast...

if you notice on your 52x cd drive it spins up then sounds like its slowing down... so it can actually read the cd...

my dvd drive runs at 16x and its no problem whatsoever...

hell my mums pc has a 12x and thats great...

or Panasonic DVD-ROM 345634

im thinking of bring my old 4X DVD over to my new comp, only problem is, its white.

the 16x refers to it's DVD reading speed. Most of them read normal CDS at 40x/48x/52x
